For a day we will keep the main message below. But a short update you should get even today:
With the temperature it is all okay. Puschel get n antibioticum and not chemotherapie for this week. She ist still weak and has to fight against nausea. But all in all she is doing well. Therefore we´re very thankfull cause she has not to go into the hospital... She enjoys the time with her little brother who will got to Africa (Ethiopia) again in two month.

26th of June 2009
Now we´re back home again. So we want to let you know the results of the ride to Berlin and all tests.
We had good possibilities for talks with the doctors. They explained us all important things. It´s good for feeling save to get all necessary answers about the medical questions.
The most important result is: All the metastasis those were identified the last time are not longer seeable!! Ther are some shadows in the lung, but just for sure they are all from an infection in the last time. There is not a sign for the cancer!

So we have to say Hallelujah and praise the Lord. For sure: it is definitively better than three month ago. The cancer is the problem no 1. And these is better than before!
The other thing is the pelvis and the fibula bone. That´s not better but also not mor bad. There is still a big fracture. So Puschel has still to be very carefull in walking and riding and all moves. But the doctors recommendation is: walking and be active how it´s possible for Puschel; the bones will grow together be active life more then by laying in the bed...
So we hope and pry that it will be so. Out big ask for Puschel is to less pain soon for needs less pain killer.

Today we are in Berlin. The test are over. but the results we will get even tomorrow at the lunch time. We will let you know these tomorrow in the night or a little bit later.

Today we want to show you how Puschel is trying to be on her legs after the surgery in August 2007.
To stay and go ist possible for her because a cuff on her rigth leg what holds her feet in a right angle. Without these the feet would fall down everytime in the walk. The cuff is hloding the feet together with her shoes. So she is able to walk arround.

A big problem is the absence of her sciatic nerve. So her leg has not enough blood. So she has alltimes a very cold leg and feet. She is not able to feel that... But we´re glad to see that Puschel is fighting all days with joy and a great composedness.

That we wanted to share with you today. We will keep you informed tomorrow.

18th of June 2009
Today we have some news for you. Puschel can start to put more pressure on her right leg. It has to be careful, but it has to start sometime. You can see on the pictures above that she is taking the pony out with the 4-wheeler. Yesterday she started to ride Saba on her own again. The last time before she got the news of the fracture, her leg got numb when she went horse back ridding. The test yesterday and today went well, but sure we still have to be careful.

We have to go for the next check up for cancer on the 25th. There it will be even more important. The lungs and the pelvis will be in the focus. Thank you for our prayer!!!

In the first weeks of august there will be a camp in Sweden at the tourchbearers center for kids between 14 and 17 years. Puschel was ask to help with the devotions. Will you pray that it will be possible? And also pray for wisdom and concentration? If anybody is still interested in coming to Sweden too, just tell Puschel. There are still some places for Teenager.

10th of June 2009
Right now we have normal workdays here. Puschel had a lot of visitors at the last two weeks. She was very activ. Now it is more quiet here. Puschel has to do some office works.
More and more is the big question if Puschel will be able anytime, may be still in these year, to have a second and alternativ education for the future. Puschel wants to do this. But before she has to get more informations about all things with the cancer and the status of her pelvis. She has to go sure that she is able to live independent and allone.
She would get all nessecary money for this schooling. But before she needs some more stability. Would you like to pray for that? We would be really thankfull.
Two days ago Puschel fell down over a tree on the earth. She fell down with her head against a stone... patently she has no problems, only a swelling on the backside of her head.

An interested information for you: Puschel has not to got to Berlin for the next tests on the 16th of June, b ut on the 25th. So we will be able to give you more informations in view metastasis and the cancer after that appointment. Thank you so uch for looking here again.

Today is Puschels 26th birthday.
We thanks God for every day those He gave her and us together. Sometimes Puschel is able to share Gods love and glory with all people. She likes to speak about Gods love although normally she likes not to stay before a lot of people. But to tell about Gods mirakles to show her thankfullness is a privilege for her.
It is really a mirakle for us all that Puschel can go through her 26th birthday. Think about her chances two years ago in her 24th birthday...
But still we don´t know how it will go in the future. We knopw thet HE has all thinks in HIS hands.
The last test with the metastasis in her lung were not really encouraging... And in about three weeks Puschel has the next important tests in Berlin.
In all thinks we know that God keeps HIS hands about her next year - day by day. Every day is a special gift, every year too.

On Friday Puschel wants to go with the youth group of our church to a big meeting in south of Germany, in Aidlingen. It seems that in twill be possible. Perhaps you can pray for her for a time without complications and for a savely long trip (about 900km). What is evidently for us - for Puschel it is not evidently!

Last here: Puschel would like to answer all emails to you. Yesterday she said: “Dad, I have to answer som emails form some month ago... I said to her: “Write whatever you can, they will understand it...” I hope you will understand if she needs much time for the answer...
But so thanks for all your mails to Puschel and for all prayers!!

By the pictures you can see, that Puschel will have some nice days. For a week she can be in Sweden to visit some friends in Holsby Brunn from the time before she went to El Salvador.
The weather for these trip is fine, Puschel is able to move arround. She is not depend from her normal wheelchair like a year ago. She needs still a lot of pain killers to participate in normal life. But we´re very thankfull to get all these necessary things.
Puschel is able to tolerate her chemo tabletts nearly good. The blood level is permanent deep. But if she lives carefull in view on that it will be a justifiable risc. to live in our house without all riscs would be not better for her whole situation.
So she can stabilize the normal medical” levels. How it is real we will know after the next test in Berlin. It will be in 4 weeks.
To tell you how it is with her bones in the pelvis will be possible after the next pictures. Puschels feeling is better than before. She has to be carefull. But that´s okay in her normal life.

The best thing is to know that God has all things in His control and His hands.
And it´s very nice that He gives Puschel such nice days like now in Sweden. Thank you for all your prayer and staying beside Puschel.

There are no news so far, what is good too. Puschel is actually doing well for her circumstances. The blood level is still going down, but we expected it. (the white blood cells are around 2,0.

One of the questions we have in those days is, if Puschel can participate or how far she can live a normal life. She is aloud to visit 2 a week a pool at a hotel in Schorssow, which is the next village (3km from Bülow), to do some Water sport/therapy. She was able to start last week, what we are thankful for. But if the blood level will go down further it will question us if she can keep going to the pool. The reason is that the danger of infection will go up. Puschel is as far as she can outside to enjoy our surrounding. What a gift that we have nice weather in those days

We do not have much news for you in those days, but I would say that this is good too… That also means that there is no change or new side effects with the chemo therapy. Puschel is doing well so far. That is to say that she is tired, but joyful and she has nausea, but the medicine against it works. The blood level goes down a little every week, but not as much as she already had. (White blood cells 2,5)

It is good that Puschel can move around carefully. Although, it does not work as well as before she went to the rehab. (When the pelvis was not broken) She can not go horse back ridding, because some of her parts of her leg get´s numb. We hope and pray that once the bone is well again, that she can go ridding again. Saba her pony would be happy too It is great that she can enjoy the fresh air these days. It is helpful for her immune system.

After Puschel´s friends from Gärtringen came to celebrate a engagement over eastern, Eva and her friend Johann came to spend time with Puschel. It seams that in the next few days it will get calmer around here, which is good too sometime.

12th of April 2009
At the moment we have very fine weather. That´s good for Puschel cause she´s able to be outside much time. Today she had the possibility to share the time with Annelie who has getting baptism in our sunday service and with her friends from Gärtringen in south of Germany. They together have celebrate the service. So Puschel was very busy in the last days...
How the chemo works we will be able to tell you only later. Puschel is doibg well with this! So she can participate in normal life in her circumstances.
Puschel is talkig with a lot of people, especially the young people in our church. She has many possibilities to help some people in her situation.
That´s because you´re praying for her alltimes. Thank you so much ever and ever!

The first week with the chemo therapy (in tablet form) is over.
For first we can tell you: Puschel is going well in these circumstances. She needs more time in the morning to go into the day. But that´s only a small problem...
Very nice is it to see that Puschel is able alltimes to go into the fresh air outside and to be with Saba or the Grizzly... She has to be carefull, but that´s okay.
In the meantime we found out that Puschel fibula in her Pelvis was broken already when Puschel was going to the rehabilitation time in Füssen, so also here in the Bodenseehof what you see left by the picture... That means, Puschel was beeing in the whole reha with her broken bone in her pelvis... We have to be thankfull that she got not more problems there. But its not possible to understand how the doctors there have´nt seen that... How good to know that God is able alltimes to see and to know all things and has it under control.

Now we hope and pray that God will change all things in her pelvis and her lung in a better direction. HE can do that the chemo is working without much “collateral demages”.

Now we want to tell you as fast as we can how the doctor appointment in Berlin went. We has some questions about a chemo therapy (this time in tablet form) In this case we has a very good talk with the doctor who is in charge of the therapy. She took a lot of time to explain us the possibilities. The result of the appointment is that Puschel will start with a new tablet chemo. This is not as aggressive as Puschel already has. Therefore the doctors do not expect huge side effects. The biggest problem will be that her blood level with all the immune system will go down a bit, but not as much as we already had. Since we already got the information before for other therapies where the side effects where higher than it was expected, we will be careful with this stand point. We pray that it will be how expected from the doctors.

For all questions in view of Puschels pelvis, we had a detailed talk with the doctor who implement the operation, Dr. Tunn. He didn´t take the broken bone lightly, but was still easy going, if you understand what I mean? The bone will grow together again. He doesn´t know a matter of doing a operation or other big therapies. Puschel is aloud to do as much as she wants to and as much as her pain lets her do it(witch is the problem) Movement and some pressure is important for the fracture. This declaration give us more safety in the whole dealing with the fracture. Therefore Puschel can go outside and do what she able to do an doesn´t have to stay in laying position all the time. Good that there are people like the doctor with such experiments… He said that the body heals to 90% everything by it self and we can only do a little to all of it. That’s a praise to our creator!

SO we has a very blessed day. We want to praise God for all his leading and pray that the tablets, the body and even more God will heal Puschel´s body. (next check up is in 3 month) He can make the spots smaller or even take them away. He can! Good to know!

first of April 2009
Tomorrow we have a new meeting with our doctors in Berlin. It will be real important to get a better understanding about the situation of the pelvis from Puschel. We have not only a desolate statics in the separately bones but also a big problem with the direction in the joint of her right leg. So we want to have a new assessment from the doctors in view of the question what is more important right now - a chemo again or first a redirection of the pelvis. If it will be real necessary to start the chemo we have the situation again like direct after the surgery two years ago, were the bone did not grow together well.
If the chemo will be necessary fist the problem would be that Puschel would have to lie down all the time. The consequence is that the bones will not grow together and the immune system will go down again. All advances of the rehabilitation will be destroyed.(if they are not already)
So the complete situation is in HIS hands again. We will ask about a new check of Puschels lung. But we trust that God will give our doctors the necessary wisdom. But we know that God has under control all things every time. Also the shadows in the lung! He is Puschels creator! He is the Lord!

We´re not able to tell you really news in view on the metastasis in Puschels lung.
But you read 3 days ago about Puschels (virus-)infection. She was doing not so good at last days. yesterday she was not able to come to our sunday service.
But in the afternoon it became much better. In the night Puschel was able to pick up her friend Inge from the rail station...
Now she has a big deficit of water in her body. So we gave her two infusions - the first time since a long period without additional fluids.
Now we hope she will be strong enough soon to build up her muscles and all power. It is very important to use all progresses of the reha time in Füssen.

At the next days we will have contact to the doctors in Berlin - Puschel got problems in her pelvis with the bones too - to get a direction for the next steps of all. We will keep you informed about all these.

Now we are able to give youthe news for whome you were waiting the last days. Puschel was in Berlin on Monday for some necessary test in view of the cancer. She had a lot of ambulant test (CT, MRI, X-Ray). Because it was ambulant they needed more time for the results.
Therefore it was Puschels apprehension to will get not good results.
So today we got the new results of Cancer test.

Unfortunately that became reality!
We got the news, that the doctors find signs of cancer in Puschels lung! It is very small there, but the doctors think, there is a relation to her early cancer in the pelvis.
These small metastasis are 3-5mm big. They only are identifiably by a very high resolution CT device.
So you can imagine that it is an emotional shock for Puschel and for us. Because all horrible things of the last two years are in our minds and memory.

But we are sure as well that we have a Lord and father in heaven who has all things in His hands!

And we know too that you will be with us in prayer. Thank you! The Doctors in Berlin have to have a meeting with specialists. Therefore we will have to wait for new news untill next week thurstaday. We will keep you updated.

At this moment Puschel has to fight with fever and how most of you know that nerve pain goes along with it. That is like electro shocks. The fever started short before we received the news about the problems in the lungs. For Puschel, that means that it is more serious than for us. Would you keep that in your prayer too?

Now Puschels reha-time is over!
Puschel is glad to come home. She was able to learn a lot. It was nice to see that she went without her crutchs or backward or sideways. It´s very important because it´s not normal in The circumstances of her muscles. Puschel had a lot of possibilities to exercise all moves in the water. There it´s much more easy.
Today we were very busy in visits and rides through nearly whole Germany...
Now Puschel is laying in a nice hotel bed... Tomorrow we will go home!
Thank you all for all prayers! Monday (16th) Puschel has to go through a cycle of new tests in view of cancer. We´re glad to know that all things are in HIS hands!!

I want to give you some news about Puschels status although there are not a lot of news. Cause Puschel is very busy in her rehabilitation, with trainings, therapies and other dates at these times. In the weekends Puschel is able to rest and has time with some visitors. It´s very fine for her to get visits sometimes. Puschels handling with all pains is now better than in her start there. She gets a lot of painkillers by tablets. So she has less pain but now she is much more tired and not able alltimes to read books or write eMails. So I think it´s important for you to know it.

So we hope that these time will be very helpful and important for Puschels recovering and renewing. How long she will be there, we will know it in the beginning of the next week.

My dear friends
You have not heard from me in over a week. And some of you are probably concerned about me and wondered if I got lost in the mountains on the way to my Rehabilitation.

Through the help of a friend Christian, it was possible for my parents to take me down to the Rehabilitation. Christian is taking care of our animals and house. Therefore my parents are able to visit Mäuschen alias Esther (my sister) as well. She lives 2 hours from Füssen. That is the place I will be for the next couple of weeks. Maria an other friend came with us on the trip too.

The Klinik is as far as I can see good for me to improve my skills in walking. And hopefully also to help me with the whole pain situation. I have to say that I haven´t had so much pain in a long time, like I have since about 2 weeks. It is still not clear where the problem is.

Please pray for the problems with the pain and also that I will be able to learn as much as it is possible for me. I need lots of strength for that. But as well thank to God that I have this possibility.

I am always happy about emails or other gifts, but please understand when I am not always able to answer. The program is full of activities and takes lots of energy. I have intensive Physical therapy, Water therapy, Thermo therapy, general training of the muscles, Doctor appointments, talks etc. How you can see… no vacation!
Oh, by the way. I can see directly to the mountains of the Allgäu and close by there is the castle Neuschanstein.

It is always encouraging for us to know that you keep checking the web side and with that you show interest in Puschel´s and our life and the willingness to pray for us. It is mostly encouraging for Puschel. But we hope that it is also the same for you. It is meant to be on one hand an encouragement to trust our Lord and on the other hand as a help to see that God is here and that it matters to Him how we are doing. Sometimes we don`t feel it as strong, but He gave us the promise that He will be with us.

In the last couple of days Puschel had to fight with lots of more pain than usually. And we don`t know where they are coming from. We were reserved to get a check up, since the Rehabilitation will be soon (one week to go). We hope that she will get the right pain therapy there.

It is a surprise that going horse back ridding is doing well for her. She has less pain, when she sits on top of Saba. The direction of her legs and pelvis mind be a reason for it.

All in all she is tie strongly to the bed or the wheel chair. Otherwise she would have to take more pain killer, which she wants to avoid as much as she can.

She is still very thankful for your support in prayer and any encouragement. We will keep you informed…

My dear friends,

I just have to tell you something great. On Tuesday I went the first time to a little swimming pool at a castle, which actually belongs to a hotel. (Burg Schlitz)

It has been almost two years that I went swimming the last time. Now I became the chance to walk without crutches. That was so awsome to walk forward, backward and to make a handstand in the water! What a great experiment! Thank you Lord!

We´re so glad and thankfull that Puschel is doing well a long time. It´s normal that she has some times very good and some times not so easy. But all in all we are able to see God´s miracle in her and our life. In these circumstances we have every days many reasons to say thanks to our Lord. And we know that it´s not obviously. We see that many other people, sisters and brother have so different experiences.
Therefore it´s our desire to let you participate in our thenkfullness and our joy in the Lord.
Puschel has many possibilities to work in our church, specifically with the young people in prayer and helpfull talks. Every week she has a meeting with some young people to read the bible and pray for all things.
So Puschel is able to give all her possibilities and natural and spiritual talents for helping the people and honor our Lord.
Now Puschel is preparing for her rehabilitation time in a special hospital in south of Germany. It will start on 10th of February. We´re excited to see what is possible for Puschels progression.

Dear family and friends,
Recently a friend wrote me that his last year was tough. I thought about my year and came to the conclusion that my live was tough too, but also with a great deal of laughter. Our Father has lots of grace for me left. In my brain I have many memories of suffering, but in my heard I don’t remember the time a lot. Instead He reminds me of the good times.
When I worked as a nurse for children I was able to go home after work and put all the suffering from the people into His hands and leave it there. How much grace is it that I am able to have a joyful heart? What a gift? It is never going to be possible to buy it in a store. And I don’t deserve it, but that does not matter to Him. He loves me and I am not able to give back one bit of what I receive. I can only choose to take it or skip it.
The same way God gives us the choice to acknowledge that Jesus is His son and our savior. We have to choose every day if we want to walk with Jesus or go our own way. The difference is that He has made us and therefore we should take the way He wants us to go and not our own. If He does not know where the best way is to go, who else would know? Would we ask a pottery what to use it for or the potter? He knows what we are here for. We find the answer of life question not in the world, but in the one who made the world.
When our live seams out of control we often have only one chance. –Let Him do it. And that’s what is healthy for our live- when we search for Him.

My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2. Corinthians 12:9

I found a note from 3 years ago. I wrote down that I had a sentence in my mind. “God is writing a story with us.” That’s all I wrote down that day.
And He didn’t start when I got sick. He started before I was born. He did the same for you. He gave us a free will. Therefore it is our choice whether we let Him write the story or go without Him. We can go to church every Sunday and live our lives without Him. If we are up for an adventure we should better include Him. That’s when adventure becomes meaningful for eternity. And if we want a peaceful life we should do the same. We are just visitors on this planet, but what home will you go after your visit?
These thoughts have been on my mind during the last weeks. Back in Dezember I wrote down some questions and I just found out that they are a short cut about the thoughts I just put down on paper.

Where do I step?Whose footprints do I step into?Who shows me the way? Am I walking blind? - What is my goal? - Am I alone on the way? - My soul finds rest in God alone! He is my goal! And I do not go by myself! - Peace and Rest, security and Love and abounded never ending grace. - Without Him, who am I? - Gone with the wind! - With Him I have everything that has worth. Forgiveness forever! - My friend- I want to be your friend. Be my father- your child

I don’t know if those words will help you, but I wanted to share it with you.

The Christmas time was different since Silas is in Africa. However I was thankful that I was able to participate in a play at the church at Christmas Eve. That way I was able to help a little bit, because I cannot do any physical stuff such as cleaning the church or like ( a lot of the PK (pastor kid) especially the girls have to do) decorate the Christmas tree. In the play I was allowed to be the guy Simion who gave Joseph and Mary the barn. With my short hair I can go as a boy J

For New Year my friends Myri and Daniel came for about a week. We enjoyed the time together. A highlight was that they both got engaged on the 1.1.09. And I was one of the first ones to know.In January the plan is to get ready for the rehabilitation program for which I will have to go to the south of Germany and stay at a clinic for at least 3 weeks. I will get training in walking and help with the pain. That’s at least my hope. It will start on the 10th of February. On the 6th of February

I will hopefully be celebrating my grandfathers 80th birthday with my Holmer family. Since I have already about 50 cousins from the Holmer side of the family, it will be a big party! (from my mums side we have about 20 cousins- for those who are interested)

The pictures show you that I am back on the horse back. My muscle is recovering and I can now start to train my leg again (slowly). Only the freezing cold weather keeps me more inside. I have to watch out for my foot. It gets colder faster and I don’t feel it.

For today I think you had to read enough. Thank you that you take part in my life. Thank you for being my family. His family. May He bless your year of 2009 and draw you closer to Him. Remember? That’s the best place to be!

A happy and blessed new year for you!
We want to thank you again, for your care for us. That you check the web side sometimes and even more pray for us and especial Puschel´s situation. These days she is laying much more than she used to do. She has an infection on her lungs and that keeps her in her bed or wheelchair. She has normal problems like everybody has who has a cough and so on. But for her every symptom is worse. She also has very strong nerve pain when she gets fever. It feels like an electroshock. And that means she needs more pain killer… more nausea, less activity, more rest…

You can understand that it would be good, that she gets rid of it fast. Her immune system is still not at the normal level. Therefore she had to start with antibiotic as soon as she got fever.

Puschel had a appointment for her rehab program first on the 12.1.09, but because of her muscle she has now an appointment for the 10.2.09 for Füssen in the south of Germany. We hope for her that she will get help in her training for walking and also therapy for her pain. Further more information later.

It was nice that Puschel was able to participate over Christmas and New year at our church. We will show you some more pictures in the next few days.

Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber;
