Today we want to give you a song. That was written by Puschels cousin Magdalena Holmer in Bad Blankenburg about her. She is singing it with her band
Puschels status is unchanged. She has more and more pain. so it is time to do anything. But we´re very glad that Puschel can be here for this Christmas time!!
We´re grieving a little bit because of the status of Linda. News of her you can read below.

Now we´re really happy that it seems we can have the whole Christmas time at home together. Puschel is doing well related to the circumstances. These circumstances are impressed by a new kind of food (for example complete without sugar) and also by the permanent growing tumor in Puschels Pelvis.
We hope and pray that it will not grow so fast and the size of it will not be a problem for the threatment with heavy ions.

but now we´re very thankfull to our Lord that He opened these way with the heavy ions. It is not a normal thing that the doctors in the HIT (Heavy Ions Therapy center) are willing to try this therapy. They have to construct a lot of things especially for Puschel. It is the first time for them to treat a pelvis. Before they had only heads.

Now we have to trust in our Lord that He will give good results.

Here some new infos about Linda for all those asking about and praying for her:
Her last chemotherapy is over. Actually she should get the big surgery at these time.
In the beginning the doctors found some shadows in her lungs. They doesn´t change in the whole time of the treatment. But the doctors wants to make sure that it is ok before the surgery. Just now she get a biopsy but the results are back not faster than 10 days later.
But the surgery will not going before.
Plase let us pray that the tumor can removed but her arm can keeped. god is here and we can trust Him!!

17th of Dezember 2009
Yesterday we had contct with the doctors in Heidelberg again. Now we have a new direction: the surgery for preparing the heavyiontherapy will be in Heidelberg! Apparently it is more difficult than the doctors thought. So we have an agreement for a new time for the surgery. Puschel has to come there on the 5th of January. The surgery will be thwo days later - Thursday, the 7th of January. After that she will have all tests and preparations for the heavy ions.
We hope that we will not lost time against the tumor (anyway the heavyiontherapy could be in the second time of January). The tumor is growing slowly.
However it is good for Puschel to be at home for the whole Christmas time. Her strong pain she is able to handle for these time with her morphin. We hope it will be not more bad in this time.
We hope and pray that god will keep His hands over Puschel. He is the “chief in the ring” (its a german word!?...) In HIM we trust. Thank you so much that you´re with us!!!

15th of Dezember 2009
Now we´re in search a good clinic for the next necessary surgery to make Puschel ready for the heavyion treatment.
For explanation ones more: Puschel has to get a net which has to keep the intestinal apart from the tumor otherwise the side effects will be to hard on the intestinal. But now we see that it´s not so easy to find a clinic for this. The doctors in Heidelberg thought and said that Puschel could get it anywhere in Germany and for sure in Berlin. But may be we will go for this back to Heidelberg. Will see. May be we can decide it on Wednesday.
So we hope a little bit that Puschel will be at home for Christmas time and not in the hospital. But presently it is mor important to be properly and thoroughly than very fast.
We will let you know more so soon as possible.
Just now Puschel is doing well at home...
But to know that the tumor is growing enduring is reason enough to bring in order all things around the hevyions for the next future.

10th of Dezember 2009
A free day is okay. But we would like much more to know what is going in the next time. Tomorrow we will have a new talk with the doctors of the orthopedic clinik. We hope and pray that we will get a clear statement of the doctors if the heavyiontherapy will be possible in the next time. We think the best would be to get it as the singular therapy. The doctors in the HIT (Heidelberg Ion therapy) have some technical problems because they have nothing experiences with a treatment there on the pelvis, only on head cancers. But we pray that they will being disposed to try it with Puschel. We haven´t to lose anything... Tomorrow we will let you know more about!

8th of Dezember 2009
Today Puschel had a new Appointment in the orthopädic clinic. We had a good talk with two doctors. So we have all in all three choices:
First: The tumor will be removed by a big surgery. The result would be also that Puschel will get irreparable damages, in the end it will be a paraplegia.
Second: the tumor will get smaller by a surgery without all these damages. The complete removing of the cancer has to make the heavyiontherapy. Thats not the first choice for the doctors because it is´t the normal known way and they´re unsure for a complete success.
Third (it was a new idea in all consultations): the question, if it´s possible to make a big lang heavyiontherapie without a surgery. Than we had to look what would be necessary if it has´nt success.
So we have to pray for wisdom for the doctors and also for us in all these decisions. We would like mostly the last version. But we dont know if it will be a real way. God can lead the doctors to try this way!
Tomorrow Puschel has to get a new MRI. Than we have new consultations with the doctors. Thay want to talk between with the heavyion therapists.
Very fine: Puschel could leave the hospital and can be with me here in the house of friends in the near of Heidelberg.
We had a very fine trip to the Bodenseehof!! You can see it by the pictures above. A surgery in this week is not probable.

5th of Dezember 2009
It was a really idiocratical week...!
On Friday we had to seat and to wait again a long time. In the lunch time suddenly we had an appointment with a doctor at the orthopaedic university clinic.
There we had the first really substantial talk in view on the surgery. It was very good that the professor of the surgery clinic absolutely wanted a votum of the orthopaedic doctor before the in second time for Monday  planned surgery.
Now these second appointment for a surgery was cancelled.
Than we had a good talk with the professor in the surgery clinic. The result is: In the next week will start the surgery anytime. But now it will be prepared much more properly. Than different specialist have to come together for this. It is a very special kind of surgery. Now it will start in the orthopaedic, not in the surgery clinic.
The very big challenge is the really impotant question if the nervs and organs beside the tumor can be keeped in the surgery. (Ihope so, you can understand my english...). The tumor is much bigger than we thouht and knew. The question will be wich part in all these can have the heavy-ion-therapy or what the surgery have to do to eliminate the cancer.
So please pray for the doctors for good decisions in the next week in view to the dimension of the surgery. We will let you know more so soon as possible. Thank you so much!
Now we could go for the week end to Esther, Puschels sister to the Bodenseehof of the torchbearers in south of Germany. It was a great desire for Puschel. We´re very thankful for that. On Monday we have to go back to Heidelberg

third of Dezember 2009 11:00 p.m.
It seems that Puschel will get the surgery the earliest on Monday. But that is not sure, The professor who will do the surgery wants to be sure that the surgery is prepaired for all possibilities. So he contaced some specialists for the different areas. Thats important for a well prepaired operation. So we have to stay patiened.

Sure it was kind of enoying that we had to wait the whole day without getting further, but that way we where able to be there for a while for Tatjana. And that was good. She has to find an new life orientation. Every thing fell apart in her life today. It is so hard. And you are not able to do anything! Please be praying for her and her Family and that she will see somehow Gods love and care. Thank you we will keep you informed. 

 

11:00 p.m. Today I have the chance to write you…We have different Information for you then you expect to get. The last night I was able to stay at our friends house, since the operation got moved. Last night I was wondering who will have to go for surgery instead of me this morning. We came back to the hospital this morning and are still waiting for a doctor to tell us what the next step will be. And just some while ago we met the wife (Tatjana) of the man (Peter) who is getting the surgery right now. Peter has a tumor in his stomach. So the Doctor have to take out his stomach, spleen and a part of the pancreas. But it may change while the operation. Peter and Tatjana have 3 younger children. Since you don´t have to pray for my surgery today… would you pray for Peter and his family? We just prayed for Peter with Tatjanan. And we have a blessed time to talk with her about God and the world.

12:00 a.m. Just now a nurse came to us to tell us that we will see a doctor for plastic surgery probably this afternoon and tomorrow an orthopedic Doctor, because of my broken fibula in my pelvic. That’s what we know for now.

01:00 p.m. Just now Tatjana got a phone call from a doctor. He told her that they opend up the stomach from Peter and saw that the tumor is much bigger than they were able to see with the CT. It is so much that they closed everything again, becaue they can not do anything anymore for him...! That means that humanspeaking there is no chance of healing anymore. Please be praying for the whole family, that God will suround them with His love and show them that He does not want to harm them allthough they can not see it at the moment.

Second of Dezember 2009 23:00 p.m.
The plan was: tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. starts a surgery- She would have been the first patient that day- for about 4 hours.
But now two hours ago one of the doctors came to us to talk and said that the professor wants to ask a special doctor for plastic surgery before the operation. He should give them advices for the surgery. Therefore they have to move everything. We may have to wait untill Monday, but we don´t know jet. However we should know more tomorrow in the afternoon.  We will let you know!
But what we know for  right now is: HE has it in control. HIS plan is in HIS minds. In HIM we want to trust.
So thank you very much for your prayer, for all your support! It is really encouraging to know that so many brothers and sisters are praying for Puschel and thinking of her!!!

Now we´re on the way to Heidelberg! Have a break in Bad Blankenburg in the house of my uncle and want to be there at right time 10:00 a.m. in the hospital!

There is something on my heart I would like to share with you. Some days ago I red Acts 16 where Paul and Silas where in prison. They did not know what whould happen with them in the future. There situation was not the best one to be. But there attitude towards God was not dependent on there situation. Their hearts was filled with the fact that they had a loving God. Nothing could pull them apart from God´s present. Romans 14:8 with my own words... if I life or die, I belong to the Lord. What a joy to know?!? Isn´t that a reason of Thanks giving? Thats what Paul and Silas did. They did not use the time to grumble, be frustrated, scared or mad. No, they used to night to praise God. They knew that their life was in His hand. Therefore the two man had enougth reasons to „just“ praise.
That is what I would like to do with you. Would you like to join me in Worship? Some of you may be able to meet. Do it! If you are on your own like me, you will be with our Lord. I would like to set a time on Wednesday the 2th of December between 9:00 p.m and 11:00 p.m. If you don´t have time that time take an other time.

I just want to invite you to praise our faithfull father who is worthy to be praised.
We have enough reasons to do so!

Puschel is doing well in these days. She is able to be in the fresh air. So she can prepare her body for the next week - mental and physically.
Certainly the pain will not be less. So it will be important to give her some exoneration by the surgery. The tumor is pressing her back site of th pelvis.
So we hope and pray for this surgery ans also for the heavy ion therapy. Hope that it will be possible in January and give healingfor her. God is able to use these hyper modern treatment. But we know that He is also able to heal without. So we are excitedly for His doing.

The last chemo for Linda is over! Linda is doing well in view of all circumstances. That was like all the time. But anytime it is enough with such treatments. And the blood also will not longer tolerate this.... We saw it by Puschel...
Now Linda has the deciding test to look, if she will need some radiations, or if the surgery will be possible.
These surgery is much riskily because it is questionably if she can keep her right arm or not. It would be very fine of you to pray for her in the next weeks!
As soon as we have news we will let you know.

 

22th of November 2009
Til now Puschel is doing well. She doesn´t get an infection in these time, also after removing the antibiotics.
So she is able to use the time before the surgery to get more power and energy. She can use the time with her horse in the fresh air to strengthen her immune system.

Two days ago we had an appointment with a nature medical doctor who wants to help Puschel to get a better immune system. Therefore we were in Warnemünde on the coast of the baltic sea.

18th of November 2009
So sorry that you got less news at th last  time here. The reason is that our internet was complete defect. So we had to go in our neighbouring town... But in the last days I was sick myself and nowbody was able to go... But now it´s okay again.
So we have the first news:
Puschel has a fixed appointment in Heidelberg: on 2th of December she has to go there. One day later (3.12.) she will get the surgery.
So our prayer is she will not get an infection before and will be able to go.

For us it is alltimes a big thing to thank out Lord that Puschel is not more depressed or hopeless and inconsolable. She has more pain than before cause of the tumor.
She is allways in contact with our havenly father. That is carrying. But thats also a result of your prayers and all support. So we want to thank you all and our Lord everytime!!

14th of November 2009
On Monday we will get an appointment für the planned surgery in Heidelberg. It was our wish to have that a little bit later, because the HeavyIonTherapie will be not earlier than in January 2010.
So probably Puschel will get the surgery in the week after th 23th of November. We will let you know the direct appointment.
Between Puschel is trying to get to know more about immunology and special nourishment for cancer people.
Fortunately her presently immunsytem is nearly stabil, the leucocytes have stabil about 3. So she can take away her three different antibiotic medicine what she had to after the last chemotherapy. She wants to prepare it more before the surgery

12th of November 2009
The Now we´re back home again. Some of you gave a signal they want to know how it was going in Heidelberg...
So - we had a short but very good talk with a doctor there. The clinikum in Heidelberg is a very big campus but it seem that it is good coordinated between the different medical parts..
Now this is the next way: A surgery in the next time is necessary. Than it can start with the new “Heavy Ion” therapy. It is realistically that these can start in January.
so the surgery will be good to minimize, not eliminate the tumor. The risk for a lot of side effects is to big. So the tumor should be minimized as a good preparing for the “HIT”. Now we have to wait for a concrete time for the surgery. Also not clear is the location for syrgery, may be Berlin or better Heidelberg!?
We will tell it you.
However we will hope and pray that the surgery can be without cutting some other nervs and the HIT is able to kill all the rest of cancer cells. We don´t know how long will be these therapy.

The tests in Berlin and the ride there went well. In riding back we could pick up a friend of Puschel, Maria, who is student in Chemnitz and riding back home. The pictures of Puschels pelvis and lungs have to give the doctors in Heidelberg all important clues for right decisions.

Now we have to prepare all things for Heidelberg. It is a way of 850 Km one way.

Puschel is in view of all circumstances doing well right now. Today in the night she hat to fight again with nausea. Sometimes it is not so easy to handle the painkillers together with a lot of different antibiotic medicine. It is necessary after the last chemo therapy against any infections.
Today Pusche was able to celebrate with us our Sunday service again. It´s alltimes an imortant gift for her and some people in our church. A lot of them are praying alltimes for Puschel and helping us in different ways. We´re really thankfull for that.

About our ride to Heidelberg we will keep you informed about all.

5th of November 2009
Since yesterday we have a bigger understanding about the new treatment.

Tomorrow we have to go to Berlin again. Puschel will have to get an MRI, CT ... This is a preperation for an appointment on the 11.11.09 in Heidelberg. (close to Stuttgart) The Doctors wants to have a overview about nessesary steps bevor the “Heavyion” therapy can start. In case of a nessesary operation we already have an appointment reserved. The reason for that is to put a “wall” up between the intestine and tumor. Otherwise the intestine would be in danger. At the same time there is the plan to take out some of the tumorcells to reduce the tumor as far as possible. We will get more information on the 11th.

Our prayer is that in case of the operation the tumor won’t start metastases an that there will not be more damage on Puschels nerves. Also that the doctors will have a clear knowlege of what to do to fight the tumor. Thank you all for your surport!

Today we want to ask you for praying that a right treatment in Heidelberg will be possible for Puschel. We had contct with the hospital in Berlin. But there we got less hope for these in the next time. It seems that it is a question of capacity in the absolut new facility. May be they can not treat enough patients in a too short time. Today these device was started in Heidelberg. It is the only one in Europe now. In the night we saw it in the tv news... It seems that it is the only option for Puschel at this moment. Therefore we expect from our Lord to give us these possibility soon. He is able to open for us a door and a way to get it.
Apparently there are only in USA such devices. But may be that our insurance will not go with and pay for that. But our Lord has options enough...!
However we will use all humanly possibilities to get these treatment for Puschel.
It would be great if you want to pray with us for good results in searching a way or another miracle for Puschels healing. Thank you for all!!

Sorry that you had to wait so long. It wasn´t happen so much between - only Puschel rode with her clan to Hosbybrunn/Sweden...
It was her big desire to come to Sweden again before the next treatment will start. We hope that the next step can come soon. In the next week, may be on Monday, we will get news about that.
Here in Hoslby has started a new group of students. It was great to see again how Puschel is able to talk into the hearts of the young people when she can share the last stations of her life.
Tomorrow we have to leave Sweden. But wewant to give you some impressions about this time.
Now Puschel has more pain than before, may be in the area of the tumor. So we would be very glad if it will be possible to start a helpfull treatment soon. It would be a therapy in Heidelberg. We will let you know more about in the next time.
We´re allways in gods Hand. He knows what will be happend in the next time. Will let you know all nes here. Thanks for all support of you in prayer!

Here I show you our last rainbow again. For Puschel it was much more than only a nice object for a photo. Now some thoughts of her very personally:

Some days ago in the afternoon I took a ride with the 4-wheeler. On the way I took some pictures of Gods creation and kind of talked to Him. My head was so full of information, thoughts and feelings, that I was not able to put it into words. If you would have listened to it, you would not have known what I was talking about... When I was almost in Bülow again, I saw this really pretty sunset. After I took lots of pictures of it I turned to the other side. I saw how the sky changed into dark clouds. The light was special because of the Fall sun and the clouds. After a while I started to see the start of a rainbow. So I called my dad, because I knew that he would enjoy taking pictures, too. He came and took some pictures also. In between of it all, I realized that this rainbow was an answer to my prayers... God was telling me through the rainbow that He has been faithful and will always be. And that He is keeping His promises He wrote down in the bible.
My dad said when we were back home “Look, the whole sky is normal” again.“ And he also said that this was the most brilliant rainbow he had ever seen. Those comments actually made the rainbow even more special to me.

 

18th of October 2009
We havn´t a clear result of the last test in Berlin. There are not signs of cancer in Puschels whole skeleton. But conspi- cuousnesses what can be indicator for too much claiming, for example in her left knee.
For Monday (19th of Oct.) we have an appointment with a radiotherapist in Berlin. It seems that we have only one choice. It is a radiotherapeutic with a kind of ions. It will endure for minimal threee weeks.
But we will have more informations for you tomorrow in the night.

Today we have no news for you. The results of the test in Berlin we will get tomorrow in the night.
So it is not clear now, what are the next steps. But we will let you know all news.

Puschel is doing like enduring the last time: it is going up and down. But she is able to paticipate in the normal live arround. And she is taking pleasure that alltimes and evrey day. In the time between she can go in the nature with her horse or the Grizzly. That´s alltimes a special gift of God for her. Every new day is such gift! Thank you for praying with us! God bless you!

8th of October 2009

Now we have results of the tests. It has been not worse and not better. It hasn´t change by the last steps of chemo... Now they want to start a radiation with radioactive radiance. How it will go exactly will be able to tell you in the next days. Perhaps we will know more even tomorrow.1 Samuel 14:6: Perhaps the LORD will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.

7th of October 2009
Many of you are waiting for news about the tests in Berlin. We where there, the tests are over. But results of them we will not have before tomorrow in the night! We all have to be patient with that.  Nice that we were allowedto go back home today because the next steps are not clear before Friday. Today Puschel has a new own Letter for you. She wanted to write it some weeks before baut was not really able to do that. She began it some times but was not able to bring it in the end. Now you should click on these geen text to come on the page with the letter.
All news we will let you know tomorrow in the night or Friday in the morning...

 

On the 6th of October Linda has also a very important test. It will be important for the decision, when and how will start her surgery. It would be really fine if you want to pray for her, thank you!

 

5th of October 2009
In these pictures above you see that Puschel is activ the whole day and can jump alltimes to be cheerfully...
The truth is that we are really glad that these is possible sometimes! In the last times Puschels has really a depression in view on her status and in view on somtimes extremly nausea and weakness. Than she has to spew for a while and to go outside to sleep a little bit in her big wheelchair in the fresh air.... Good to see that she is able to come back after that for participate in the normal life and to be active like you see it in the pictures. Therefore we had in the last days our lunch time allmost in the evening, because the nausea is coming in the middle of the day. Patently the reason for that are a lot of antibiotica what Puschel has to get after the chemo and because of the side effects. Also right now her leucos have a level of 1,3. So she has not other protection for infections. Now Puschel has to be more carfull because the low leuco level.
Tomorrow we have to go to Berlin again for the new test cycle.

On the 7th of October, Puschel has her next big check up in Berlin. There they want to find out how much the chemo therapy has done. Therefore this is an very important appointment in the coming time. With those result the doctors will decide what  therapy to do next.

In Germany we have a book for each year where we can read every day verses from the old and new testament. The mission organisation Herrnhut is making the book. Today we red Psalm 28:1 and Luke 17:13-14. On the check up day the 7th of October is 1- Samuel 14:6 Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few." And as well Mark 11:24“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

We decided already some days ago that we will pray especial, that Jesus will remove the cancer cells out of Puschels body. So she would not need an other Therapy such like chemo, surgery...

We believe that Jesus can and wants to do so. Will you pray with us? 

19th of September 2009
Puschel is back home again! She is able to enjoy these pretty ggod late summer weather with much nice sunshine alltimes. It´s very good for her immune system.
The chemo is over, and Puschel is doing right well. so much better than after all chemtherapies in the difficult time two years ago. She has all normal side effects like bad blood and others, but she is really good now.

In Berlin she got a new (not planned) CT of her lung. The normal diagnostics is planned for the next chemo time. But now we know that she has new findings there but it´s only from an infection. So she get more specail antibiotics but there was not found some metastasis. That are good news for us. God bless you all in the new week. Thank you for all your faithfulness!!

15th of September 2009
Today we had a blood test again. The result is: Puschel can start the next chemo step. The leucocytes went down to 1,5 (the low normal value is 4,0) but the trombocytes grew up to 133 (normal minimum 100). But with these level we will start the chemo tomorrow in the night. God is able to make all things good! How good is it to be in HIS hands and not in fortuity or a blind destiny!

Apropos: yesterday Puschel wanted to walk with us down to the lake. She wanted to show us a suprise... On the way she threw down her crutches and went with us without them to the lake. You see it above. The doctors allowed her to do all thing she want to do, all things what she has power and fun for. Such words Puschel let not say them two times...
At these time also Ellis is still here for a visit. So with all things Puschel alltimes has to do enough---

12th of September 2009
Unchanged Puschel is doing relatively well since about a week. She is able to be much activ. Her blood level is in all field very acceptable. Her leucocytes grows up to 2,1, the thrombocytes to 74. So we  hope to can follow the schedule from the doctors for the chemo (and to be there with Linda together!).
Now we have to wait for the next blood tests on Thursday. However, Puschel is feeling right well. Presently she has many visitors here. Yesterday her friend Eva with sister Judith had to ride back home in Southern Germany. Roght now she has another friend here with her husband. After that she will have Ellis, a friend whom was a long time with her in Sweden. Ellis is from Netherland. You see - Puschel has now chance for boredom...!
Much important for Puschel is to find a good clinic for a good  therapy against her pain. She has to get a new medication adjustment. We didn´t find a clinic for that in the past. But we know that our Lord has all things in His hands (may be in the background...) Thank you for praying that he will show us...!

7th of September 2009
Now Puschel is  weak often. To weak to work something like she wants to do. Than she has somtimes not enough power to write an eMail or to do other things. But she is trying everytime to be activ. The status of her pelvis allows to make all things what she wants - to run, to exercise anything, to ride or whatever.

Sometimes in the last weeks we had families of our big family clan as visitors here, visitors especially for Puschel. Thats everytime very fine but for Puschel also much strenuously. She wants alltimes to be with them but after their visits she feels that she went over the limits... But she enjoys about that. In her minds and in her prayers she has many of friends and kinsmen alltimes. She is glad to be able to help and advise. Nice to see how God is using her in view on many things.

Nice to see that some of you are keeping  contact to Puschel and let her know that you are keeping  and carry her in prayer and love.
Puschel is still doing well after the second chemotherapy. May be that the reason is the shorter time and a smaller dosis for chemotherapy. But also is possible that our is gracious and mighty - the blood levels are in view on the cicumstances very well. All the single values are in a normal range. Only the thrombocytes are much less.

We hope and pray that Puschel will find soon a clinic for a therapy to change the presently kind of pain killers. Now it is doing mostly over her port. But for a long time it is not good because of danger to a big infection there (an infection direkt in the venes!). We are very thankfull that the port hasn´t get an infection in the past.

And we pray that God will give for the chemotherapy good results. The best would be that a surgery will not be necessary in the future.

You know that Puschel got only three steps of Chemo. All things went well. Only for Linda it was not so fine to stay without Puschel until Saturday. Also a friend from southern Germany was there over the whole time. He got a surgery on Monday. It was together with the friend of Linda, René, and some other young people a “happy youth time” there...

Now Puschel is glad but also a little bit weak (which change to the time one and a half year ago...!) at home.
Important to stay without any infections. If you want please pray that Puschel will be able (in view to the blood and others) to go to the next chemo on Sept., 16th (together with Linda again).
since today Puschels little brother Silas is in Africa again. He want to help to rebuild a small clinic in southern Ethiopia (without any normal things of civilisation).

Now two chemo steps are over. Sometimes Puschel has to fight suddenly with a strong nausea. But all in all she is still doing comparatively very well.
Restrictive I should say that the blood level is presently very bad. So the chemo therapy can not go like it was planned.
Instead five infusion of the chemo Puschel can take three. The white blood cells should be on a level of nearly 3. But now it is 1.1....
If you want you should pray for Puschels blood that it will be able to recover faster and better.
It is good that we know that God has it in control. He knows what is good for her.
It is fine that Puschel can stay there with roommate Linda. So she both are more relaxed in these situation. They have somtimes a lot of fun together.

If you see such pictures may come thoughts that ask why God let some people take pleasure in her whole life and other have to lay in a hospital room to take poisonously soup in their venes... HE knows it. And it is good to know that although we´re not able to know!
It is so wunderfull to see that Puschel hasn´t such thought all the time (we´ve never heard it from her...!). Instead she let hear us thought of thankfullness. For example Thankfullness for all those things like that she could be at the last time in Sweden as well and now in the wedding days of her friend in Southern Germany. She was the bridesmaid of her friend. And she came happy and thankfull back home - together with friend Maria and her younger brother Silas and noe also with her younger Sister Esther who was in the wedding too.
Butt now we have to look forward to the next steps.
Tomorrow she has to go to Berlin again for the second step of chemotherapy. We don´t knoe haow long her blood will be able to take all these. So we´re hopefully that she will doing so well as the last time.

Now Puschel really was able to ride to Southern Germany to stay there some days and to celebrate the wedding with her friend Myriam. We are very thankfull, that she ist still doing well after the time in Sweden. It is amazing that she can have a lot of fun and encouraging before she has to start the next step of chemotherapy on 25th of August (next Thuesday). On Sunday she will come back home together with her younger brother Silas and friend Maria. Silas will go again to Ethiopia in the next week. He will help there to build up a hospital in southern Ethiopia.
So thanks that you are still beside Puschel in the next time. I will keep you updated

Now Puschel can stay at home until the 25th of August. Then has to start the next chemo.
I want to explain you a little the whole situation:
We know that God is able to make it all easier. But we know to that He has it in control and He has a plan with all and is doing all things without mistakes.
The doctors founded a new cancer and tumor area in Puschels pelvis. It is direct connected to the last end of her backbone. So it is inoperable. It is an area with a size of about 8x5cm. Not a firm tumor but to handle like a firm and fast tumor.
Therefore the plan of the doctors is to use a lot of chemotherapies (may be 6 month long) and to change after to a radiation, may be after that a therapie with radioactiv liquids. Thexy want to check the status after about three month.
The hope is to get the tumor area smaller. Then they will think about a surgery again.
We are still complete in gods hands.

It´s really amazing that Puschel indeed was able  to stay the whole time in Sweden with the teens On the thursday she had to get new swedish blood for her power and the red blood cells. The white blood cells recovered by themself a little, also the thrombocytes.
So Puschel was a little more able to participate in the camp and to share all things and thoughts with the teens.
Now her hair is in going away... therefore we have some nice pictures in the next time for you here. thats the last for the may be a lot of time now.
The Holsby familiy gave us and especially Puschel a very lovely goodbye, also the whole group from Bitburg in Western Germany. Many thanks for all!
first of all we thank our Lord to gave us these time together with Puschel and her a lot of encouragement by all these experiences. We saw that He used Puschel for a lot of important talks and giving Gods love to the Kids.
Now she has to look forward. The next steps of treatment  I will give you later here.

 

12th of August 2009
Yesterday we were for a new blood test in Vetlanda. But today we had to go to a bigger hospital - in Eksjö. They have more possibilities for all. We wanted to get new blood for Puschel. The people here were very friendly everywhere. It would be no problem to get blood. But the recommendation of the competent doctors here was to wait with blood transfusion because Puschel was feeling right well. The blood test was not so good, some of the values were lower than yesterday, but the value of the white blood cells was a little better (0.8).
When we were in talk with the Dr. he saw our bible on the chair - in the end he told us that he was a student in Holsbybrunn a lot of years ago...! That was really a surprise for us! The family of our havenly father...
Puschel was doing well also without new blood! Thank you, Lord! Now we hope and pray that the last day will be good too. Puschel was much in talk with a lot of Kids today. Tomorrow we have first a date again in Eksö with Dr. Pepin ...

10th of August 2009
Today we were for the first time in a laboratotium here in Sweden to get a normal blood test. At the moment we have it to do for two or three times per week. It was a little surprising for us that the leucocytes ( the white blood cells) have 0.4. You know (still) that they normally should have 4.0. Additional the thrombocytes (who are important for a normal blood clotting ) have instead minimum 170 now only 22. That´s not really good but anyway Puschel is still doing right well. Today sh had a pulse much to fast and was a little weak but she is ok now. Hope that she will be able to be here for these week. Tomorrow she has to share after the gospel time some experiences of her life with the teenies here. Please pray that she will be able to do that and have a blessed time with them. Thank you to for praying for her whole status!

9th of August 2009
Yesterday you could read: “Now Puschel wants to be with the young people here for all the time”. It means: also for all activities... So Puschel was on a canoe trip for the whole day with them...! It was very nice for Puschel and for the Kids.
We will have  in the next time different circumstances yet... But now it´s a very fine gift from God. Puschel ist still doing well. In the night she had to fight with nausea but not so heavy. The blood is also ok.
The youth camp is intensiv and for some of them very important. Hope and pray that they will experience Gods love and grace. It´s a right place for that here! Good for them to be in a complete different place. Young people share the gospel and the experiences of life with teenies. It´s a special thing for some of the teens.

Now is Puschel in Sweden! We had hope it and pray for. It´s Gods gift for her and us. And Puschel appreciate it so much.
We had a very good ride to Holsby. Now Puschel wants to be with the young people here for all the time. We will let you participate so good as possible. I will give you also more news about the planned therapy for the next weeks and month.

But now we hope first that her blood will be so stabil that Puschel will be able to stay here to the next Saturday.

Now Puschel is at home again. And she is doing well! A little bit she can feel that the inside wall of her esophagus has been more thin and sensitive. Will see any more signs of the chemo in the next time, especially in the status of her blood. We will let you know. But hope it will wait a little bit... And hope Puschel will be stable for being mobile.
We´re very thankfull for the comparatively good time in the hospital. Puschel had a good short time with Linda too. On the 25th of August they both have to start the next part of chemo... The further plans for the therapy you will get in the next time.

You can see Puschel sitting. Also with a smiling face (below). It is a real big gift of God that Puschel is doing so well in the chemotherapy like never before. For sure it can be complete different in a short time. But for now we´re very thankfull for each day like these. Puschel is also thankfull for the friendly care in these division  of the hospital!
Now we pray and hope that the chemo will work for eliminate the cancer from her body. Our God is able to do that. Thank you for praying with us!!

Dear friends,
Today we come with a little provisory page, because we have some problems with the computer...
Whatever, we want to keep you informed about Puschels status in the chemotherapy and also after.
Since yesterdayPuschel got an irrigation for 10 hours. Today in the morning the first part of the chemo started. Puschel was a little bit tired after but it´s normal for lying all the time in the bed...
In the afternoon she got the second part (different chemo medicine)
18:00 it ended but Puschel wanted to go in the city... So she was able to have a shopping tour for two hours....
Dreamlike to have these status alltimes in the chemotherapy.
Now we hope and pray for good results of this therapy. But it is only in the control and the hands of our heavenly father. In Him we want to trust all the time!
So everytime thanks to you for all you prayers and your love! God bless you so much by His great possibilities!!

Now it´s clear: Tomorrow Puschel will go to Berlin for the first chemotherapie again! Tomorrow she will get some tests and a first irrigation. After that she get the chemo for about 5 days. Hope that it will be helpfull.
We hope and pray too that Puschel will be able to get it without a lot of side effects. Also she will be able to go to the youth camp in Sweden for the second part, also for the wedding of her friend.
You know her side effects of the last chemotherapy... But God has it in control! Our problem is not to know His way... But we will trust!

We had the hope thet the calix will go over for Puschel. But now we got the news, that Puschel has a recidiv (it´s new cancer cells again) in her Pelvis. It will have consequences for the next time and the future...
Puschel has to think about a new chemotherapy in the next days, so the doctors recommend it, or to wait a little bit for now.
Puschel would like so much to go with our youth group to Sweden for a camp. And on 22th of August she wanted to go to the wedding of her friend in south of Germany...
Tomorrow we should call in Berlin to talk about the next steps with the doctors...
If you are still able to pray for her please pray for the right decision. It would be really a strong encouragement for the young people to have Puschel with in Sweden. And also Puschel would enjoy so much there. After that she has to go again throu the deeps of chemo with all side effects, you know it...
But if God is leading these we need His conduction too. It´s not real possible to understand His way because His ways are higher than ours and His thoughts higher than ours! But what would be better than to trust Him? If you will trust with us it will be a great help!! So thank you all!

A short information for now: Puschel is under the surgery right now (10:00). You will get the newest information in this night.
Thenkyou that you´re still in prayer for Puschel. It´s a special experience to know that you are behind her/us in prayer.

Today we will not get results of these tests (biopsy). But we will let you know all these when we got them.

17:00:
Puschel is doing well after the surgery. She was okay again after 2 hours.
In the visitation in the afternoon Dr. Tunn explain Puschel that he is not able to exclude that the tooked out cells are cells of tumor and cancer. But we know that he couldn´t tell others...
So we have to wait again, may be 5-10 days. We will let you know all news

Good to know that God has in his hands all things.
So these days are very stirringly for us all. Thank you that we can be sure for your prayers!
Puschel would like to go with our young people to a youth camp tho Sweden. But it´s depend from the progression in these things. God is knowing that.

17th of July 2009
At the moment I´m not able to show you new pictures also not news as well. The situation is a little bit diffus. We have right now more questions than answers.
The doctors wants to get to know where from  the infection is. So it calls ever and ever: you have to wait...
The antibioticum is going by drop since 7 days. It will finish on Monday. But it´s not clear if it will works positiv. Because the results blood tests are negative: there is nowhere to localize an infection.
The port is ok openly. there the doctors normally are searching an infection. Also the meningocele (you remember?) has not an infection. So we have finally the ever changing results in the lungs. Thats was a sign  for the doctors to an infection, but the blood doesn´t confirm that.

So the doctors are nearly at sea. They are looking at the blobs on the pelvis.
So they decided to make a surgery on Monday to get a biopsy from the pelvis area. They wants to make sure that there is not a new cancer tumor

So we´re on a point again that we can only trust to our God. HE is able to give a miracle an to make Puschel quietly. If there would be a tumor again, all things (chemotherapie and all these) would have to start again... But we have a great Lord...

Right now i´m still with Puschel at the hospital in Berlin. I heard the sentence of my daughter (with a small tear in her eyes): I have not much more strength to be all the time so sick...
Today she got a CAT scanne again where a doctor punctured a area under the coccyx (tailbone) what is rather unstable. It´s like a hernia where liquid had to be taken out to get checked. The kind of hernia has been there since the operation and grew over the years. The doctors got a few substances of the cells for analysis. It is an area on the right side of her pelvis. There she has some blobs (red spots) what which are red and a bit hard. So she gets some more tests in the next few days. It is very important to find out where the fever comes from. Right now Puschel has no fever because of the antibiosis. But it has to be clear what the reason is otherwise it may come back.
Puschel has to stay in Berlin for the next days for sure. And although it is hard for her we are glad for all the tests to find out the reason for the infection and make all necessary steps to get it a side.
Our biggest prayer right now is that the fever will not be a consequence of a relapse or a secondary tumor. That would be extremely hard because Puschel would need to begin with harder chemo therapy and the entire burden that comes with it.
Thank you for praying with us. Please pray also for strength for Puschel. She is nearly on the end of stength. So thanks for that!!

Above you can see old known the pictures:
Puschel is in the hospital again. We have to fathom the origin of the fever. The doctor there wanted to do that in the hospital with all more possibilities there. She initiate all necessary tests. To find  out more about blots on Puschels pelvis and to see more in the lung she got two current CT from both today.

A differential blood analysis should show first all reasons for the fever and any infections. The result is: Puschel has a heavy infection inside, but nobody knows at these time where from it is. That´s the object of some test in the next days.
But today Puschel got an intravenous antibiosis by her port. It has to stopp first all infections and fever.

But good to know that the fever is´nt from evil tumor of the cancer.

So we hope and pray, that they are able to localize the infection. Will keep you informed about that alltimes.
Anyway Puschel has to stay in the hospital minimal to Monday. That´s not a reason to be happy... You see it by the picture above...

11th of July 2009
Lot´s of things happened around Puschel such like the soccer camp, but her condition did not get better. She still has the fever and nobody knows the reason for it. In the last week the hospital in Teterow did some testing’s, but nothing was found. We changed the Antibiotic, but that did not change anything eider. Therefore we have to go to Berlin to the hospital for further check ups. That’s the only possibility we have. This will take some days. So we are probably not able to give you more information’s tomorrow, but hopefully in the beginning of the next week.

We pray that God will keep her safe and that the doctors will find the reason. She has to fight with the fever already since over two weeks and it takes her strength. The annoying thing is that she also gets always a bad pain in her bad leg, when the fever goes up. It is as if she would touch an electro fence for animals. And that at least once a minute... Its very painful!

Well, we hope to give you more information soon. May we be faithful to God and rejoice in His Love and Peace. He knows what He is doing. Don´t go the road and think that it is not that way... He holds the universe in His hand! Can you imagine how great He is? I can not. There is nothing to compare.  His thoughts are way higher than our thoughts…Thank you for your faithful prayers.

Good that it was not  necessary to show you pictures from the hospital since a long time. Today we have such picture for you because Puschel had very bad blood levels. She was weak and wanly and had deficits in about all ranges of her blood. So she got a “good shot” red blood cells today. In the hospital in Teterow the doctors and nurses were very friedly again. All things were well and the best: Puschel could go home for the night. So she is home now with new red lips and a good status.
Only her temperature is not right. And we don´t know wherefrom the fever is. So she has to get some test in the next days.

By the pctures you can see that it´s happen here a lot. Right now we have here a group of english people who are football players and missionaries. They are here to play football (soccer) with the kids in our area and shere the gospel to them. So Puschel is able to be in the middle of them and to speek englisch alltimes...
If we can refer you a change in the status of Puschel we will do it. God bless you all.

Everytime we want to be thankfull for the positv results of the last test in Berlin.
Yet we have to look at the presently blood levels. The last test show the doctor that it´s possibly a virus infection. We´re glad to have enduring contact to all doctors in Berlin and to our family doctor who is very understanding to tPuschel and our whole situation.
Today Puschel is in the city for detailed tests. And we hope to get more exactly results for knowing causes of fever and the bad blood levels. Puschel is presently often weak and tired.
But all in all she is doing well and we hope for a good stability in the next time.
Sometimes Puschel meet the young people of our church. Regularly every week she ist together with some girls to read and study the bible and talk about.

For a day we will keep the main message below. But a short update you should get even today:
With the temperature it is all okay. Puschel get n antibioticum and not chemotherapie for this week. She ist still weak and has to fight against nausea. But all in all she is doing well. Therefore we´re very thankfull cause she has not to go into the hospital... She enjoys the time with her little brother who will got to Africa (Ethiopia) again in two month.

26th of June 2009
Now we´re back home again. So we want to let you know the results of the ride to Berlin and all tests.
We had good possibilities for talks with the doctors. They explained us all important things. It´s good for feeling save to get all necessary answers about the medical questions.
The most important result is: All the metastasis those were identified the last time are not longer seeable!! Ther are some shadows in the lung, but just for sure they are all from an infection in the last time. There is not a sign for the cancer!

So we have to say Hallelujah and praise the Lord. For sure: it is definitively better than three month ago. The cancer is the problem no 1. And these is better than before!
The other thing is the pelvis and the fibula bone. That´s not better but also not mor bad. There is still a big fracture. So Puschel has still to be very carefull in walking and riding and all moves. But the doctors recommendation is:  walking and be active how it´s possible for Puschel; the bones will grow together be active life more then by laying in the bed...
So we hope and pry that it will be so. Out big ask  for Puschel is to less pain soon for needs less pain killer.

Today we are in Berlin. The test are over. but the results we will get even tomorrow at the lunch time. We will let you know these tomorrow in the night or a little bit later.

Today we want to show you how Puschel is trying to be on her legs after the surgery in August 2007.
To stay and go ist possible for her because a cuff on her rigth leg what holds her feet in a right angle. Without these the feet would fall down everytime in the walk. The cuff is hloding the feet together with her shoes. So she is able to walk arround.

A big problem is the absence of her sciatic nerve. So her leg has not enough blood. So she has alltimes a very cold leg and feet. She is not able to feel that... But we´re glad to see that Puschel is fighting all days with joy and a great composedness.
