25th of DecemberThe Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1,14

Itīs really fine to have Puschel at home in these days. Therefore I will give little information for those all who are looking here.

Puschel is doing well butt alltimes it is going up and down with her feeling. The blood levels are not really good. The leucos who are responsible for protection of infections are about 1.2-1.4. Itīs nott really good. Even the red blood cells are not so good. So Puschel has not so much power and energy for the whole day. Nevertheless she could participate in the normal life here especially in the evenings and the night.

Now she has to go to Berlin again because its very important to have good effects of the whole chemo to have not so big interruptions between each chemo steps.

For you all we wish you a Merry Christmas and good and nice days to the new year. And many thanks for all you prayer in these time. Puschel got a lot of greetings for Christmas - also so many thanks!! God bless you

21th of December
The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God my Savior!
Psalms 18,3

In the last three days three big blood tests have been done to look closer at how everything has been developing. Puschels blood is not that good (Leucos again at 1,2) but also not too bad, so the doctors from Berlin (at least right now) don't want to change the plan for the rest of the chemo. The Plan is that Puschel stay home through Christmas but will go back on the 27th of December for the next chemo.Till then we just try to enjoy every single day that we have together at home.
In the last few days we were able to go outside late at night into the fresh air. Since yesterday Puschels younger sister is home from Bodenseehof for Christmas. She came with us, and then we also made a "community visit" at our church lay leader, Bern hard Scharrer...
Thank you so much over and over again for all your prayers. God bless you! HE loved us so much that he sent his only son into that worls so that we could get a conection to HIM. We praise and celebrate HIM in the next couple days. A blessed Christmas to all of you. We will keep you updated!

                                                    (translation made by Mary, Chicago...)

16th of December
For who is God besides the LORD ? And who is the Rock except our God?
Psalms 18,3

It is allway unsure with Puschels status. It is going up and down, also with her temerature. Nearly each days in the evening Puschels temerature is going up, so weīre unsure if it could be that we will have to bring her in the hospital again. So we pray for Puschel to can here at home for this new week and also the complete christmas time.
Today we could go outside with Puschel and visit the neigbours in our small farmhouse (small castle). It wasnīt possible for Puschel since her surgery in August.
So Puschel is able sometimes to see her lovely suuoundings here in Bülow.

So we hope she will doing ggod for the next days. And we thank you for praying for her!!

Now at the the right you see an article of a local newspaper with Puschels beel project and all things arround. I hope I can give you the text in english in a few days. Just now itīs only for all who are able to understand german, sorry...
But God is goo with us. And we hope that the bell will reach San Salvador at these days!

13th of December
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalms 18,3

Since yesterday it was exciting for us. Puschel had to get e new needle for the port. besause an infection of the port area she had to stop all drops and to put out the old needle. Despite the non present thrombos and leucos these area recovered very good. Now she should to get the new neddle . But the fluid couldnīt flow. We were really concerned thet the port unter her skin would be plugged. So we had to try again today. We tried with another kind of needle. And we are very thankful - this needle works very good. Itīs a great easement because it would be very difficult it the port is really plugged. Thank you Lord!
And Puschel is doing well at this time! You can see it by the pictures. She has different times on each days but all in all it is very well now.
If you want you can pray for good negotiatings with our health insurance. We have any problems to get the money what we had to pay for some activities in the past.
And thank you for praying for us and also for Peggy. Thank you for all your faithfulness.

10th of December
You have made [e] known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalms 8,5+6

The blood level is going to a positiv direction. Puschel has more strength than before. She is even able to go for little walks into the living room and today she was able to enjoy the visit of her cousin and his family. She also can paint a little bit and take over nessesary things.
The skin where the port needle was before is working good again. The infection is gone. And weīre probably able to put the needle back in again in the next few days.
We hope and pray that she is able to stay until the next chemo and through the physical therapy get some strength back.
Therefore weīre relly thankful for every moments we can enjoy and get into “normal living” again.
Weīre still very thankful for the blessed operation and all the nervs what still works very good and things she can still do and the motivation to learn even more.
Again thank you for all your prayers and all your love. May God bless you richly

8th of December
Lord, what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
Psalms 8,5+6

It is a little bit more complikated with the thrombocytes (blood platelets) than with a normal blood transfusion. Because the thrombos were so low that the doctors from Berlin desided to give her blood plasma (concentrate of thrombos) on the same day. The problem is that Puschel has a difficult blood group. Therefore it was harder to get it for the hospital in Berlin. Actually we were prepaired to stay in Berlin for two hours but on the end we it took us 8 hours until Puschel got the blood. But however we got home thankful happy and tired at about 2:00 AM at night.
Today Puschel all in all had a good day and we hope that the blod level will stabalized soon.
Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement even from brothers and sister weīve never met. Thank you too for all prayers for Peggy. We met her in the hospital yesterday!
It is great to be connected in our faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ.

7th of December
Breaking news:
Puschels blood level is so bad (thrombos 7!), leucos 0,5. So we have to drive to Berlin instantaneously to get new thrombos there. Today at 15:00 she hes a date in the hospital... Keep you informed! Thank you for xour prayer!

6th of December
Lord, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. Psalms 8,5+6

A little Story I have to tell you (from Puschel):
A Chinese man comes to a Barber.
He has only four hairs on his head but requires a good hair-cut. The Barber starts but  one of the hairs breaks suddenly, he is inconsolable and doesnīt know what he can do. But the Chinese says him “itīs not a problem, you can still braid it”. The Barber is relieved and begins again. But in a short time the next hair breaks, the Barber is sorry but once more the Chinese says “no problem you can just part it and cut it”. Then the third hair breaks, now he is completly confused and full of shame. So the Chinese speaks to him “donīt worry, Iīve always the ability to wear the hair down.”..

Puschel remembered to this joke in view of her last hair in her eyelashs (the left picture). But you can see: she can win our hearts with her shining smile (right picture)... Today she wanted to take a bath only shortly. but nevertheless  she was very weak after this.
Then Eva-Maria came with the announcement that Puschel has fever (about 38°). So we prayed for Puschel hasnīt to go to the hospital again. A half hour later the temerature was absolutly normal! And we are hopefully that it will stay so.
just now puncture point for the needle into the port is ignited. So we had to take off the needle. Would you like to pray that it will heal complete soon? Thank you so much.
Our God can!!

5th of December
Every day brings something new. Today the blood level is again just like allways after the chemo: low (leucos 1.6, thrombos 35). That means again we have to be careful and watch out (and hope and pray) that they donīt get too low so that Puschel doesnīt have to go to the clinic before the next chemo.
So these days again Puschel needs the time in the morning to start the day and then later in the afternoon she gets a little stronger and mor awake. You can see it on the pictures. So we take the days like they come and use them however we can.
God bless you and we thank you for every little prayerand all you faithfulness!!

4th of December
We are so glad that Puschel is home at this time. She is doing alltimes almost well. The blood levels are ok and nearly stabil.
Today after the bath she had a fight against the nausea but she has good medicine for that and for all pain. So she is able to handle all this nearly good.
Now we hope that she can be here all the time to the next chemo after Christmas
I will keep you informed almost daily or for two days. Thank you so much for looking here ever and ever and praying for Puschel. Our Lord bless you so much. Itīs so great to have a so big and good heavenly family! Itīs really a great encouragement for us!

2nd of December
Today on the 50th birthday of Eva-Maria, Puschels Mam it was a really perfect and amazing surprise that Puschel suddenly was in her room. Nowbody told her anything and she thought Puschel would come home on Thuesday... So Puschel was ringing her bell in the kitchen for her nurse...Eva-Maria wanted to look if anything is defect with the bell... So we saw very surprised eyes... It was really nice!
The therapy had to be shorter than planned because Puschel blood levels are not able to be good enough in a short enough time... The problem is a too high risk for infections.
So we hope that Puschel will be able better to handle the side effects of the chemo and to have a fine Christmas time at home. On the 27th of Dec she has to go again...

1st of December
A lot of visitors were by Puschel in Berlin. Friends from Idaho: Liesl and a part of her family. And Puschel is doing well. The last chemo for this time is going. And Puschel is glad to be home soon...

IMG_7024-100

Itīs important for Puschel to present you Peggy, her roommate. Paggy is 35 years old. She had to fight against cancer since her 13th year of her life. It was going up and down. Now she has a tumor in/on her marrow in her neck region who is laming already her left arm and left leg. Therefore she has jaust now the third chemo. If it hasnīt the right results she has to get a very difficult and dangerful operation.
Puschel told her from you all, herfriends and brothers and sister who are praying for her. Peggy doesnīt know our amazing heavenly father and HIS might and power. And now Puschel would like to ask you all if you will pray also for Peggy at the next time. May God show her and us HIS glory and grace! It would be so great if you will do this work in front of God for her to show her HIMself. We donīt know HIS will but we can trust HIM to heal her like Puschel. Would you like??? Thank you very much for all your love and support! God bless you by this all!

29th of November
Puschel is doing well today. To today in the morning was Eva, her friend from Austria with her.Now she had to go home for working there. So Iīm with Puschel to the end of chemo.
Now Puschel is in a room with another young woman.
The problems with nausea and pain are not so big and I hope it will be to the end. I think she get the right medicine for this. And the doctors are knowing her good enough.

For paniting or other activities Puschel has not enough energy. But today in the night we could watch together a movie with her Laptop.
On Saturday she will get visitors from Idoho, USA. Her friend Liesel and her father and sister wants to come to Berlin for som hours. I hope she will be fit enough on this day...

27th of November
I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
Psalms 34,2
Today, Iīve good news for you:
Today we went to Berlin again and Pushel got a room on her own! We are so thankful to our Lord for that, because this will make the Chemos for Puschel so much easier to handle. So doesnīt want special treatment but in a 3 bed room, or even a 2 bed room, there’s so much more coming and going. And this way I can also take better care for her – which also makes it easier for the nurses. We are very thankful to the doctors and nurses, because we canīt take it for guaranted. When we came to the ward today Puschel was heartily welcomed. It was really nice.
But there are even better news for Puschel. She got the rusults of the CT today. Dr. Richter was very happy to let us know that there were no metastasis found in the lung (it was most likely to find some in the lungs)! So we are very happy about these good news and thank our Lord for it!!!
In addition Puschel had a MRT today, but we donīt have the results yet.
Tomorrow another Chemo will start, but with a lower doses, because Puschels blood wonīt take a harder one. It takes more time for her to recover. We hope that she can handle this chemo better now.

26th of November
I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
Psalms 34,2
Now itīs clear: tomorrow we have to start to Berlin. The next chemo is unavoidable.  And too much time should not be in  between otherwise it doesnīt have any effects anymore. The blood levels are good enough therfore its time for the next chemo.
For Puschel itīs goo to heve a quiet environment so that is a prayer request. The doctor are doing as much as they can to create conditions so Puschel can take the chemo as good as possible.
Thank you for your prayers. And remember to thank HIM as well. Our Lord knows our needs especially Puschels.

25th of November
Today it was one of these days when itīs up and down. Then Puschel needed a half day to be present in the day... Today up to the lunch time she had to fight against nausea and to vomit. But after she could enjooy the rest of these day. By pictures you see that she was able to paint.
Now weīre excited to the blood levels tomorrow. Depend of this will be the decision about chemo for the next week.
So God has a lot of possibilities to decide this... HE will make it right!!

23th of November
Here you can look at a little (or great??) miracle!!
Yesterday Puschel got physiotherapy. After that she was going to visit her brother Silas in his room. Thatīs great because she couldnīt see another thing than her own room or the rooms at the hospital...
But the greatest thing was in the night: Puschel wanted to take her bible from the window sill. But nobody was ther to help... So she tried it allone (thtstīs Puschel...). She had to sit up and to reach the window. And she was able. But thean she told me this in the night and tried to show me how she was going that.So she tried to heave her right (!) leg. And she was able to heave it... Look at the picture...! What can I tell you: we were very amazed and Puschel too.
Thats an important step for the future! Now the importants thing is to fight against the cancer. But if God will give Puschel healing from that she has togather with her positive view of normal life a good chance to walk and to move again! Thank you Lord for these little step!
And thank you for all prayer and love! Now the leucos have 1.9. And thats improvable before the next chemo will start...
God bless you all!

18th of November
Sorry, you had to wait some days for Informations of Puschel. I had too much to do... And Puschel still isnīt able to write herself these infos for you.
She was in the hospital a week ago. But at the last week she got an infect at home again. It was an infect of stomach   with fever  So we were concerned to bring her in the hospital again. Today Puschel is feeling much better and without fever...
So we think that she will be able to go to Berlin tomorrow for two days for different tests of her body.
Monday and Tuesday we are planned at the clinic in Berlin. And then Puschel will have time to rest at home for a week before the next chemo treatment . And we hope for a stabil status for this time.

Now it is time to explain the last developments of the bell project. You can see the harbor where the bell was sendet to El Salvador. I will explain all things about this project on the bell page III. You have to click only on these text or the pichtures of the Bell or harbor and you will be passed on the right page. Thanks to all who helped in these project for La Casa de mi Padre in San Salvador. God bless you all!

14th of November
Today we were invited for supper from good friends who lives in the near of us. We were in a cinese restaurant and could tak a meal for Puschel at home and her brother silas. The result you can watch by the pictures on this page... (sorry, the report of the bell I will give you later...)

Today it was like everyday for Puschel: in the morning to lunch time she has to fight agaiinst nausea and pain. But anyhow she is able to reach the afternoon... and then it is mostly much better. Today it was enduring a little bit longer but the night and supper time you can see here. so it is wunderful to take pictures of Puschel...

Today Puschel had leucos of 30,3!! It is not clear if itīs a computer error or not...?? The other levels of blood count were really good. The most problems Puschel has with the pain. And if she is getting medicine for that it will come the nausea...

now it is clear for us: on next Monday Puschel has to go to Berlin for some tests and she has to stay there to Tuesday. Then she can stay at home for a week before the next chemo will start in Berlin again. However I will keep you informed here. Thank you so much again for looking here and then praying for Puschel. God bless you for all your support and love to Puschel averytime!!

13th of November
Puschel is really home!! That means too that Puschel blood count is going up and down... Just now it is not so good again (lucos 1,6 - normal is 4 and more; thrombos 43 - normal is 100 and more). But Puschel is going well. Today we called the hospital in Berlin. So Puschel has to come there again for different test in the beginning of the next week. And we are hopeful to get all test in one day so Puschel will can go home on these day.
Right now Puschel is sitting in the bathtub and enjoy this time with pizza and icecream...
Tomorrow I will give you more informations off shipping the bell to El Salvador.
To you many thanks for all you support for Puschel!!!

11th of November
Puschel is home!! Look at the pictures and see that Puschel is doing good. The first thing at home in these morning after the coming back was a great bath. And then Puschel could be in our Sunday service by a video transference in her room.
After the lunch time we could go outside in the sunshiny landscape.
Now we hope the blood cont will stay good. The leucos have 4,7!! So itīs good for the next time.
In few days she has to go to Berlin again. I will keep you informed about.
Tomorrow I want to go to Hamburg to bring the bell to the port...

10th of November
It seems that we can Puschel pick up from the hospital tomorrow in the morning before our Sunday service!
Thats very nice for Puschel because she will be able to live through the whole Sunday at home and to rest and recover so long as possible here at home. Puschelö likes so much to be at home. She takes takes pleasure in every day and hour here.
Thank you for carrying her through these time in your prayer! And thank you for all your signs of closeness and love in Christ. New pictures I hope to show you tomorrow...
Now we hope for Puschel to have complete one week at home.

9th of November
Most probably Puschel will come home on Sunday! The blood count is so good that it will be possible (leucos more than 2!). Puschel is feeling even better... In the morning she had to fight against nausea but then it was being very good.
For the end of the antibiotica and watching the effects of this she has to stay to Sunday. So we hope to can pick up her on Sunday after our church Sunday service. May God give her and us this nice gift and will not come other complications. So she could be here at home for few days before she has to go to Berlin again for different test of cancer and her pelvis (actually on 14th of Nov).

8th of November
Puschel is feeling good. The blood count is better, not good but better. Puschel has enough time and quiet for sleeping. She will have to be at the hospital for some days. Itīs for getting to the end the antibiotica and watching the effects of this. Itīs not so nice to be everytime between the chemos not at home but at another hospital. But weīre thankful that she is so good. And Teterow is in our neighborhood.

Below I will explain more about Puschels bell project. The bell is ready for shipping. Now Iīm sick myself. So I will go to the port in Hamburg in the next week.

7th of November
Even now the fever is not really better. Itīs between 37,8 and 39,0° and we donīt know the reason. Itīs good to know Puschel under a enduring observation at the hospital and to know that the doctors will do what they can. Today she got two blood transfusions.
All in all she is felling good. Today she wanted to walk arround with me. But today I had to stay at home because I have an infect myself. So we have to wait with this...
Today Eva-Maria was with Puschel and just now her “little” brother Silas is ther to make the life of Puschel more sufferable...
Actually I wanted to ride to Hamburg to bring the bell in a stabil box to the port for a long trip to El Salvador. But we have to wait a little bit. I will give you more informations about these project at the next days

6th of November
It seems that puschel is going better. But itīs often only a feeling. Puschel is more awakein the afternoon.
But today in the evening she had fever with 39°. Thats not really good for Puschels circumstances. The doctors are trying just now a new antibioticum.
Ever and ever itīs amazingly to see the patience of Puschel in all these situations. She has to lay down alltimes and to wait ever and ever. And in all these are changing the nausea and the pain in full regularity...
I know that your prayers and your faith and trust are so helpful and a really strong wall arround her heart and herself. God surrounded her with his peace and joy and quiet.
I hope it will be better tomorrow so she can go home soon...

5th of November
Pictures from the weak and tired Puschel I donīt show you today... Instead some pictures what Puschel has made with her viewfrom the wheel chair...
The doctors at the hospital in Teterow were very busy with Puschel today. In contact with the doctors in Berlin they tried all possibilities to make her strong and her blood better. Just now she get  new blood (two transfusions) for better feeling and blood levels. Her lucos have 0,0 (!) today... But in the evening Puschel was more strong and awake.
Tomorrow we hope to find her better and can taker home in the next days. Thank you for all your prayer. Please pray that her infection will go away and the blood will be better and better. Thank you so much! God bless you.

4th of November
Actually I would like to give you a detailed positiv report after some days without news... I had to show you a lot of nice pictures...
The last time was really good for Puschel. And I had to prepare my sermon for the sunday service and other important things... Yesterday Pusschel was in our nature with Puschels little sister Esther and her friend Myriam (pictures below) Puschel got a very good wheel chair from friends at last week. Today we were outside with Puschel for second time. And after this she got more and more fever - to 38,5°. So we had to call the doctor in Berlin. And he sended us to the hospital in Teterow again. Puschel has pain in her esophagus. And the doctor wanted to give her a very wide antibioticum.
So she is at the hospital again and we are at home now...
We are hopefully to get Puschel at home very fast. She needs the time between chemos at home!!
It was a really good time until now. Please pray for a good effect of medicine and coming home Puschel soon. Thanks for the good chemo in the past. Thank you all for your great support! God bless you!

31th of October
By these pictures you can see: Puschel is at home again. It was going very fast. The last blood count was good. And also her main status was good enough for the doctors opinion. So she got the papers for dismissal...
For lunch we were at home in Bülow!! It is not only a little thing. It is a gift from our God! Weīre thankful for all.
These chemo was the best of all up to this time.Puschel had very lovely nurses and doctors. And she had a good mix of medicine for less nausea and pain .
So weīre thankful to our Lord to be here again. Puschel was able to take a bath and to be really fresh in her own bed...!
So we hope she will be okay at the next time and have not so many problems with her blood. Thank you for praying for that and thanking for being here.
In about two weeks Puschel has to come to BErlin again for different tests of her body. Then she can go home for about one week before the next chemo will start.

30th of October
Itīs possible that Puschel is allowed to go home tomorrow! We donīt know it now exectly but tomorrow... Puschel is hopefully... But I had to destroy a too big optimism...
However these chemo was better than all before! She had very good circumstances (single room and lovely nurses and doctors). So weīre very thankful for that. To them all But first to our Lord! And now we are thankful to you alle for all your prayers and your love!!! I will keep you informed

29th of October
Also these day was good for Puschel. Everytime she is much weak but her nausea is good with all medicine what she get if she needs it.
Today Puschel younger brother Silas and her sister Esther were in Berlin to visit her with friend of the youthgroup from our church - Maria and Judith.
To talk with Puschel is not possible but it is good for them to look how is Puschel living if it calls: Puschel is for chemo in Berlin again... Esther is learning and working at the “Bodenseehof” - centre of the torchbearers in Germany - deep in south of Germany. She was for the first time here to see Puschel at the hospital...
Tomorrow Puschel will get the last round of chemo. Then I hope to can take her on Wednesday or Thursday and bring her home... It will be depend form Puschels general conditions and her blood count.
I will keep you informed!

28th of October
At the Moment I have not so many news for you. Today Puschel got the third chemo. Two she has to get else. Now she is so much weak. Thats the badest feeling for her. But we īre so glad to see that the doctors and nurses are very understanding and  sensitive with Puschel. She is not able to articulate this a theses time but it is very helpful and pleasant for Puschel and for us. God bless them because they are accommodating an angel without knowing that... (Hebräer 13,2!). Pleas pray for them too! Thanks!
If Puschel has to fight too much against the nausea so she can say it and call the nurses or doctors. So even now she must have different medicine against the pain in her pelvis after the operation. She still will have to handle all different aftereffects from the surgery. And so there is the possibility for collision with all other medicine...
Yesterday I rode home for working somevthings and leading the sunday service of our church. And now Iīm back in Berlin  to be here for the end of chemo... We hope to can ride home on wednesday or thursday. After the chemo we have to wait for a good blood count. So we need a little bit patient to this time...

so many thanks for all your support, for all encouragement and prayer.
I will keep you informed at the next days. God bless you all!

26th of October
Today at the lunch time I could take these pictures. But now it will be impossible for a lot of days... The first day of chemo is over. It is the hardest chemo medicine what is possible. Now Puschel has to fight again against the nausea... Now I hope that she will have a good night... She has to stay still 4 days with chemo...
Thank you so much for all your prayers. Thank you for all eMails. Thank you for all love!!! All this is e right encouragement for Puschel and for us!

All the nurses and doctors are very lovely to Puschel. It is really helpful for Puschel in these situation and for us! Please pray for them that God will bless them by staying with Puschel! And for Puschel that she will be able to stay in this save in the Lord. 4 Days she has to stay in this and then  we hope to can go home...!

25th of October
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.      Habakuk 3,18+19

Now we are in Berlin again. We had a good trip and a good start here. Puschel got a single room! so she has more quiet  and possibilities for rest and sleep. And I hope this will give her power and stability for the chemo time.
This room and other good things are not evidently but a lovely gift from our God. The start here was friendly. And the nurses enjoyed for seeing Puschel and for her walking arround. And if the start is good so she has more joy and energy for all.
At the night we had a very good long talk with the special doctor of Puschel. He explained us all things and gave good answers off all her/our questions.

We are very thankful for all what God gave us with good things in the last time. By all difficulties and problems and questions with this heavy sickness we know that God gave us a lot of positiv things. We found the really right doctor for the surgery. We doesnīt be able to search and find the right man for this. God found him. He is the best of Germany for this special operation!
We have very good and competent doctors for the whole therapy. We can trust them for all! The next: Puschel has not metastases!! Puschel hasnīt been incontinent! (is this right? And Puschel is still alive although she has one of the hardest and agressivest cancers of all.
So we are sure we can and want to trust our lovely father in heaven for he has all things in HIS hands. Thank you for all your prayers. Please pray for right decisions for the therapy. Pray for healing Puschel. Her cancer is very serious and critical. And she need HIS miracle!

24th of October
Today Puschel got a call from the doctor in Berlin. Now she has e free bed. So we will go tomorrow at about 10.00.
The doctor gaver her the expectation for a single room, so itīs possible to be a little bit more easy than normal....
We will see, how Puschels body will respond to the new chemo. God has it in control.
We will see if the body will handle all these poison...

Thank you for your prayers at the next time again! I will keep you informed

22th of October
Today Puschel felt well. She had a lot of visitors and was able to participate in all our family life. This is enjoeyable for everybody for us but also the visitors and the physiotherapist. On the picture you can see how they walked arround.
At night she was able to enjoy a bath again and now she is laying happy but as well tired in her bed.
It is possible that get call to Berlin in the next few days it depends on the bad condition in the hospital. Puschel has an “open bed” on the 30th of October for the next chemo. But until then she enjoys the time at home.

Thank you for the encouraging eMails Puschel still somtimes receives. And thank you for all your Prayers and your love.

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.                               Jer. 29,11

So, now I like to give you a report from this day. About Puschels condition I will tell you another day. She is doing good...
I had very good conversations with the doctors in Berlin and thank you all for your prayer. We wanted to be clear an sure about the necessary of the chemo and if itīs effectiv.
Gott gave us these clearness through this talks. It came out a little bit different to our “wishs” but clear. Humanly speaking it would be unresponsible to stopthe chemotherapy.
Puschels kind of cancer has normally after the operation a chance of healing of 10% without chemotherapy. But with this the chances goes up to 50-60%. so the advise was to continue the chemo.
Therefore Puschel will be also in the next half year in chemotherapy and all things what you now about.
Good that God i holding everything in HIS hands and we can trust HIM allways. This we want to do and thank you so much for praying for Puschel further. God bless you all!

18th of October
Now only a short question to you: would you like to pray for us??? I know you will...! Thank you so much.
Today (Friday) I will go to Berlin for an appointment with the doctor there who ist responsible for chemotherapy. And the big question is if we will continue the chemotherapy.
I will go without Puschel. But it may be very important for her... Please pray for wisdom and clearness, okay? Thank you once more. I will keep you informed of course! Puschel is doing well today, praise the Lord!

16th of October

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.                               Jer. 29,11

Days are different. There are up and downs. Today Puschel had a lot of pain. But all in all she was doing good. The blood levels are low but for her circumstances ok. Puschel is is sleeping a lot these days but thats what she needs.Reading and writing takes a lot of energy but in general she is able to participate every day a liitle bit in our “normal life”. The phsyiotherapist comes almost every day therefore her muscles are building up in small steps. So often as possible she is trying to walk or enjoying a short ride in the wheelchair. Both needs a lot of strenght and cost her extra pain. But she also enjoyes it so much that she takes all her energy to do it.
In three days Puschel has an appointment in Berlin where the question will be if and how  we will continue the chemotherapy. We donīt know what will follow. If you like please pray for friday because we will have to decide how the therapy will continue. Make God show us clear what is right.

Tomorrow we like to tell you some news about the bell project. We hope that we will get new informations about the transport of the bell to El Salvador.

13th of October
Yesterday Puschel had some problems with pain in her back and pelvis. Today it was much better from the beginning. The forenoon was peaceful like ever cause Puschel is sleeping very long... The best thing is that Puschel is able to sleep evreytime and very good. It gives her good rest and power. At home is best!!
Today we had a very nice (fall-) weather. We only had to take the curtains in Puschels living room to show her the sunshine. So Puschel got a very great desire to go outside... We prepaired a bed for Puschel and carried her out   in the sun. So you can see pictures of this afternoon.
And Silas and me had to repair a lot of things there. So Puschel could watch her dad and brother by work... And she could talk with Gary from El Salvador and other friends. through the talk with Gary Puschel got the information about a big flood there with many fatalities and other damages. And also her little “brother” Carlos had birthday there. So many greetings and blessings by these way!!
Now Puschel is thankful in her bed again, thankful for so much freshair in her loungs and thankful for enough power for this day. Her blood count is okay (only the lucos are not so good - 1.9). But Puschel has more power than before.

11th of October
The LORD has heard my cry for mercy;
the LORD accepts my prayer.
Psalms..6,10

Actually we had to go to Berlin today for starting the next chemo. But one of goodies of an infect is that it is not really possible. We donīt know whereto it is good but we will take it from Gods hand very confident...
Puschels blood count is not really good but also not really bad. Her status is good. She has not so much but enough power for physiotherapy and for going few steps arround.
Just at these time is Puschel in the bathtub. Today she wanted to walk there herself.
She is not able to come in the bathtub herself but there are these little steps what give joy in our heards...
So weīre thenkful for going so as it is.
To Berlin Puschel has to go in the next week may be at Friday. So she has a liitle more time for rest and stabilizing.
Yesterday Puschel got a visit from two friend who she got to know in her time in Sweden. They were on tour from Sweden to south of Germany.
Thank you for your enduring looking here and praying for Puschel. Thank you for all!

9th of October

Well, Puschels status is just going up and down. It seem that it is normal.
The question is if Puschel will be able to go to Berlin again on Thursday to start the next chemo...
The big problem is her infect what is more obstinate than we thought and expected.
Now she has to inhale for keepinhg free her lung and bronchus. She is getting antibiotics and other medicine for this. And we hope she will be better and stabilize her status to be able to go the next necessary steps.
Thank you for praying for her. She needs all prayers because it is very good for her to be able to go outside oftener like you can see it by the pictures. The fresh air is so important for her body.
At the last days she had painful nervous movements in her right leg. It is not so nice. Could be that these are “hallucination” pains, but not pleasant for Puschel because she has really pain by this.
However we are thankful for her good basic status. Her blood count is okay, although her leucocytes are littel lower thand yesterday.

7th of October

The Bible vers on the bell :

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.                             Eph..6,10

Time to give you an update about Puschels  status.
The blood count is day by day better, now nearly stable. So Puschel is all in all good. And weīre glad to see that Puschel can share the normal life a little bit. It is good if she has a few more power to walk arround a liitle. It is very strain but she takes all her power to try it. Not every day but ever and ever.
Since yesterday she has a little infect in her head. And we hope she will be able to overbear it fast. Itīs sniffles a feeling of fever in her head. Thank you for praying for that...!

Today Puschel had a lot of visitors here. Itīs very nice for her but also very strain.
She is glad to have so many friends like you who stand beside her and pray for her healing and her encouragements.
Puschel is much sadly to canīt answer all you emails and letters and other signs of love. But iīm sure you will understand it. Thank you very much. And God bless you so much for that and give you HIS joy and peace.

5th of October
Who thought it a few month before...??
Now the bell is ready.
And a lot of you supported this project fpr La Casa de mi Padre so great! In the name of La Casa and Puschel I say thank you so much and God bless you!
Now the bell is in Bülow. I picked it up in the last days from Passau, a town in the south of Germany.
Now we have to look for a possibility to transport this to El Salvador. We donīt know at this time how it will go but we have a few thoughts and attempts. God may give us the best possibility.
And we will let you know it at the next time.

Now Puschel herself is getting better and better. Her blood count is really good today with relation to the last weeks.
We hope she will be able to be active and to can walk and rebuild her muscles and the possibility to stand and go and sit. Its difficult for her blood circulation and her energy and power. On thursday in the next week she has to go to the hospital again...

Thank you for all prayers! Thank you for all your great support!! God bless you so much!

Third of October
Sorry, just Iīm not at home but in Switzerland. Therefore I can give only a small update.
Puschels status is unchanged. Her thrombocytes are very good (about 300) but her leucos only 1,4. It is very fine that Puschel has not to fight against nausea. I will informe you more on Friday. Than you will see pictures of the new bell for La Casa de mi Pader...
The newest message is: Puschel has to go to Berlin not tomorrow but one week later. Thats good for rest and recover for her. Thank you so much for your prayer.

30th of September
Now it is time to give you few news. Today in the night Puschelwas able to take a big bath. Puschel had enough Power an energy after a long phase of weakness on this day.
In the night she could watch a movie with a friend and her brothe Silas. But then it was wunderful for me to talk with Puschel about a lot of bible verses and about people who needs to pray for them or to talk about La Casa de mi Padre. Puschel has a lot of Thoughts about a lot of things. So we hope that these burdened chemos will come to the end soon...
It would be great for Puschel to be able to sit without so hard pain in her right pelvis. It would give her possibilities for doing a lot of things.
Today we could make together “physiotherapy” with her legs. She has “stiff over-worked muscles“! That means she has muscles that has to be trained and moved. Thats really good.

Now for all those have interest for the bell  for La Casa in San Salvador: On Monday I can pick up the bell from Bavaria (south of Germany). The bell is ready. Pray for us to find the right possibility for transport the bell to El Salvador!. I will keep you informed. But pictures you will get in the next week...

Thank you so much for your support! God bless you

27th of September  23:30 h
Today I have not to report a lot for you. Every days Puschel has problem with her pain and nausea and weakness from the morning to the lunch time. And then she is getting better and better.... Today she had much energy for physiotherapy. To the night she was very aktiv, She could take a very good bath and watch a movie and have fellowship with us and other young people.
The blood count is “good for Puschel” but not normal good. But her leucocytes are very good.
So weīre very thankful for each days when Puschel can rest and recover and stabilize her status. It is laborious in the morning but then a very good afternoon.

Thank you so much for your support! God bless you

26th of September  23:30 h
Each should have his own concern. And we should take it like God is giving us (Math 6,34). We leraned it atthe las t month...  So today it was so too. Puschel had pain in her left (!) leg (sciatica) and in her head. But nevertheless it was a good day!
The best message came at lunch time: Puschels whit blood cells have a level of 5,2 (!) Her thrombocytes are now at 26. It is not good but much better than yesterday.
Today Puschel could have exercises with her physiotherapist. In the end she could walk a little arround.

Now I want to thank you again for looking ever and ever at these web site and interest für Puschel and her blood...!! Thatīs phenomenal for us!!! And somo of you sent notes and eMails and letters and notes in Puschels guestbook. It is a great encouragement for Puschel and for us too. Thanks also to them who are looking here and “only” are praying for Puschel. Weīre so much blesend by you all.

26th of September  00:10 h
Today Puschel had a lot of pain in her backbone. That showed us that the medicine for building her white blood cells does work. So we does hope that it will be better soon with her blood count.
At the luch time came the nurse to take blood of Puschel for the blood count. And really: the lucos rose to 4,6!!
For your remember: on Sunday it was 0,2, Monday 1,7 and now 4,6!! Prais the Lord. And thank to HIM - Puschel was protected against an infection all the last time.
Now we are hopeful that she will have no longer tie pain in her backbone.
We donīt know why but her thrombocytes what was 6 on Friday and 81 on Saturday and 90 on Sunday went down to 10 on Monday...! But today they went to 14. The doctors are not able to tell us why.
For physiotherapy Puschel doesnīt have enough energy. But we īre thankful for each good day when it will be better with Puschels status. Thank you so much for all your prayer

24th of September
Today at the first time we could get a significant raising of white blood cells (leucocytes). Now this is about 1,7! Itīs real a reason for being thankful.
Puschel got since a week special medicine for builing new white blood cells. But it needs anytime 5-7 days to work.
Today in the morning Puschel was not real good. She was very weak with pain in her head.
But after the lunch time it has been much better. Puschels enregy was not enough to walk arround and go outside in this very nice weather. But it was enough for physiotherapist and in the evening for take a bath.
After this she had not more energy. So she is in her bed. And we hope she is sleeping very good and enduring all the night.

23th of September
Weīre very thankful that God has protect Puschel to an infection at the last time! Weīre waiting for better level of her leucocytes. Today we couldnīt get results of her last Bloodtest .
Today it was very nice for Puschel to have two hours outside with the very nice weather of the fall.
For a short time Puschel had enough time to walk a little bit arround. It was not long but it was good. Thatīs necessary for her blood circulation. Tomorrow a physiotherapist will come for first time to help Puschel with her muscles and the right leg.
Now Puschel is ever and ever weak and has pain in her head and a little nausea. Today she had to vomit one time.
But weīre very thankful for this day. And also for your watching this site and praying for Puschel.
In the next days I will give you informations about Puschels bell project.
God bless you all!

21th of September
Thank you so much for your prayer!!
Like announced we went to Berlin for one night... When we came to the special station for one day we got the impression to can leave the hospital even today... We doesnīt believe it because we doesnīt  want feel sad due to unfulfilled expectations...
But because Puschel got thrombocytes one time before the doctors hadnīt to watch her for 24 hours. They had not to await complications (allergic reactions). So it was aloud for us to leave the hospital after only three hours
So in the meantime we could talk with doctors about different things. Also with the physiotherapist.
Now Puschels has her new thrombos and wil have hopefully better blood levels in the next days...
So we hope she will get enough new power and energy to stabilize her body especailly her right leg. We have many tasks with this for mibilisation.
Now she is laying in her own bed - a little bit tired and weak but glad to be home...! And we say thanks to our God!

20th of September
Now  I will give you a current update:

Puschels blood levels are extrem low. So she has to go to the hospital again. Tomorrow in the morning we have to start. The main problem is the level of thrombocytes. They are responsible for blood clotting. So when Puschel has a wound it is a big problem to close this.
It would be a very big risk to wait longer. So we have to go to Berlin for hopefully only one day.
Would you pray for a good treatment and also that God will protect Puschel? Thank you so much. May God give her to can go home on Friday....
Puschel was getting very good at the last days. Today she is much weak, also she had vomited...
But weīre very thankful that the doctors are very understanding and  are working together very close (family doctor and clinik doctors)

19th of September
The things have not really changed to yesterday. The bloodlevels are not better. The leucos are even lower (0,1!!) We have to be so much careful!
It is nice that Puschel feels really good. She has no nausea, no pain no much weakness. Today at the night she could take a bath. She is able to eat, she is looking good...
So we hope and pray that she will not get an infect. Our heavenly father is able to protect her. And HE can rise the leucos etc.

Thank you so much for helping us by prayer. We will keep you informed!

18th of September
We want to ask you to pray again for Puschels Leucos andf other blood levels.
Puschel is getting good. She slept well and had a good day. But her blood levels are very low. The leucos were going down to just 0,2! So we have to take care very special. You see it on the picture right. We are very hopeful that the böod levels will be better at the next days.
Thank you very much for your great support!

“ If weīre looking up to Jesus, our look is going
from the constrainment to the man who will change our destitution”
(Peter Hahne)

Another day passed and we can gladly state that itīs been a good day. It started out very well. Puschel had a good nights rest like she hasn't had in a long time. And her voice is so strong like it hasnīt been for the past 8 days. But at 11 oīclock things changed. We took Pushels temperature and it was at 37,4°C - in her situation thatīs already alarming. Because whenever her temperature rises above 38°C we have to give notice to Berlin - since the last chemo we should tell them already when itīs above 37,5°. Puschel also had a slight headache and high pulse. At about the same time we got the results of the blood tests. And here the datas about the "leukozytes" are important. Usually itīs between 4 and 6. When Puschel left the hospital itīs been at 3,4 and the lowest she had after the chemo was 1,2. But today it suddenly was 0,3 - and that was really alarming. Eva-Maria had to go and see our doctor anyway, so she told him about it and the doctor immediately called the clinic in Berlin. Puschel was scared that she would have to go back to Berlin again. So we prayed that both results (blood and temperature) wouldnīt be a reason for the doctors to give order that Puschel has to come back to the clinic. And we prayed that God would take care of the temperature and "leukozytes" himself. So God gave the doctors peace and they didnīt think about having Puschel come to the clinic. After lunch I took the temperature again ... Eva-Maria didnīt want to and Puschel wanted to hide her ears so I might not be able to take the temperature... but then relieve

came: The temperature was only by 36,6°C!!! So we only could thank God and Puschel could enjoy this day. The headache went away as well and she was very fit for the rest of the day.

Thank you for all your prayers! Please continue to pray that the temperature stays down and the level of the "leukos" rises. God is great. Even when we can explain things through science it still is HIS gift to us!

16th of September
Today on Sunday Puschel had a really good day! The problems with nausea were nearly away. At the afternoon sche could take a big bath. It was never possible in the last 4-5 weeks.
After this bath she was a little weak, but she had a good constitution today.
Weīre very thankful for this. The aftereffects to the chemo are not awaybut we have to live from one day to another.
Now we hope for Puschel to have a good second night with restfully sleep.
Puschel has to take much fluids to her body. She has a drop for all the day. And today she wasvery happy to can lie on her left side. This was not possible before.

Ever and ever so many thanks to you for praying for Puschel. We knw that God leads Puschel on this way. But we know also that HE will be with her in the deep on this way!

15th of September
I will bless those who bless you, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."           Gen. 12,3

Dear friends and all
those praying for Puschel,

The short yellow notice already suggested it: Puschel could go home on Saturday. It didnīt look like it, because she was feeling very bad yesterday. But in the course of this morning she got better and better. Knowing that she might go home, probably helped Puschel to pull all her strength together… So the doctors could see, that itīs best to release her home. Thank you for your prayers! One more time we could experience Gods faithfulness.

The transport home went well. Believers, who have a company for medical technical stuff,  helped us out with a special mattress that we needed. And so we could start our way back home. Puschel was so glad to be home after such a long time – and for the first time after the surgery. Before we left Berlin Mr. and Mrs Dehn, the couple that we could stay with in the last couple of weeks, and Puschels grandparents showed up (picture on the left). So we had quit a farewell there. Now we hope, that Puschel can rest and recover. We will need some time to learn how to deal with this new situation that Puschels handicap means for us all. The bones in her pelvis will take some time to heal. Thank you so much for your praying continuously. God bless you for it!

On our way home I got to talk with our friend pastor Sigurd Havemann, who lives nearby. Heīs got cancer in his lymph glands and will have another chemo for three weeks from Wednesday on. It would be great if you could also pray for him, his wife and his family. We will join in prayer as well. Thank you!

15.September 15:15

Dear friends,
Today Puschel is allowed to come home Just now I will start with Silas, Puschels youngest  brother to pick up her from Berlin.
Weīre very thankful that itīs possible today and ask God to give us a secure drive with her and to give her  after this hart time rest and recover at home. Would you liketo pray with us? Thank you so much

13th of September
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.                                       Psalm 3,6

Dear friends and all
those praying for Puschel,

We did know that the vers 6 of Psalms 3 is true. But at this moments Puschel canīt feel that ... Please pray, if you want, that Puschel will be able to handle her pain in the pelvis. The handling with medicine against this is a little difficult just now. For this hard chemo Puschel isnīt right able to tell the doctors what she needs. The tiredness and weakness is veryx hard for her. And the doctors tried a different mattress in her bed. But that was not good for Puschels status. And now Puschel has to learn to say what is necessary for her although she is extremly weak...
And now it seems that it has a problem with a right handling with Puschels handicapped body on the station where she is just now.
Please pray for coming home Puschel soon. Tomorrow has to go the last chemo cycle. After this she has to get a rinse by drop for additional 12 hours. If she did have a good blood level she can go home... She needs it to rest and recover in view of psychology and in emotional view..
Now I have to work in a wedding service and sunday services and different other tsks in our church. So now Eva-Maria is with Puschel in Berlin..But today she couldnīt talk with her because Puschel was too weak and tired... Thank you for all your prayer!

11th of September
Dear friends and all
those praying for Puschel,

The chemo is going on. Puschel is getting better than I thought before. She is very tired by this chemo, tired and weak. But just now she hasnīt to fight against much nausea. She isnīt able to do anything or to walk arround or to read or paint. But it is not really bad like with much pain or nausea.
Today she had a little physiotherapy in her bed Puschel has to get to know her residuary muscles in the right leg. The physiotherapist gave us a lot of informations about the muscles and other things. So we will be able to set in motion Puschel at home after these chemo.
Now Puschel is very weak again. And I hope she will have a good night again. Tomorrow she will get the third chemo infusion of this week. It will enduring to Friday in the night. And then she has 12 h for wash her venes with special water.
Very thankful we are for Puschel is good continent. We prayed for this and we can tell you: it seems that it is really okay!! Praise the Lord with us for this! Thank you so much. Puschel has eben alot of problems ut thisis a really gift from our Lord!

Dear friends and all
those praying for Puschel,

from today on  Puschel is having the chemo again. The schedule, that you can see on top, has  changed a little. She will get the second chemo first., which means Ifosfamide  and Etoposide. These drugs are new for Puschel and work a little different than  the others. She easily can get psychosis or other effects. After one hour of  chemo she started to sweat a lot and get nausea. Sadly, I had to leave her then,  because she got a new roommate.

So I ask you to  pray for her especially that the side effects wonīt be so bad. And even more  that the chemo will show the desired effect. God knows! And HE is the only one  who can really take care of her n the best way. Thank you for your support. This  chemo will last till Saturday, so hopefully sheīll be home on Sunday.

09th of September
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again.    Psalm 71,20

Dear friends and all
those praying for Puschel,

Since two days is Puschel in the oncology to get the chemo beginning tomorrow. A few of test are necessary before
At the night and first today Puschel had to fight against her nausea again. Two times at the night she had tu vomit. Then she had to get different medicaments. And these medicaments gave her a big tiredness...
At the afternoon she was able again to stand up and to walk (alone - without physiotherapist...) a big way arround. So she is getting further step by step.
The plan for the whole chemo  you can see on top. Puschel will not have more “MTX”-chemo because that wasnīt peaceable for her body. So she will have a week chemo and then three weeks at home to rest. And this for 6 month.
So we hope for a good next week and a fine weekend at home. Now Puschel is in the hospital about 4 weeks and then 5. We are praying that God will give to work of the chemo now. Thanks so much for your prayer with us! God bless you all.

08th of September
Today it was a good day. Puschel is waiting to start the chemo.  An exactly plan I will give you tomorrow. The aids for walking are not present in the new (old) station... So we will try tomorrow to walk allone...

07th of September
Today Puschel was  nearly well. After her daily nausea what has endet with a big vomit, it was very well! Tomorrow will start eventually the chemo, may be on Sunday or Monday.

06th of September

Dear friends and all
those praying for Puschel,

Some of you asked and I promised to give you more details about the surgery. We now got the x-rays and pictures of the MRT of Puschels pelvis. The picture above was taken on September 4th (the day before yesterday). It clearly shows the big "whole" where Puschels right part of the pelvis used to be until 3 weeks ago. And you can also see the bone that was taken out of Puschels right calf. This bone now has the important task to keep Puschels pelvis together. That this wonīt happen with the usual stability is clear anyway. Puschel only saw this pictures today and only after that she realized - after touching this part of her body - how much is missing. So now she will have to learn how to live with a pelvis that will be very unstable for many months. She has to learn and practice over and over again how to walk without putting to much weight on the right side of her pelvis. Today she walked the longest distance so far - one time all around the ward. And it was great to see how all the doctors and nurses she passed were truly excited about it.

Tomorrow she will have to go back to the "old ward" where sheīll get the first chemo after the surgery. This also means that her effort to learn walking again will suffer. So sheīll need lots of strength and energy again. For myself, I could take one week off work to be able to stay with her this coming week.

One last thing for today: Some of you asked for the internet address of the company that produces the bell for "La Casa de mi Padre" in El Salvador. Iīll only know in a few days, when it will be finished, but whoever wants to can have a look on their site: www.perner.de. Please pray for a good way to transport it to San Salvador. Iīll inform you immediately when the bell is finished.

I will praise Your Name for Your love and Your faithfulness; for You have exalted above all things Your Name and Your Word

Psalm 138:2

Dear friends and all those praying for Puschel,

Since two day Iīm staying with Puschel in Berlin again, so now it will be easier to keep you updated. And itīs so amazing to see how all of you are with us during this time, praying for her and being connected through this site!!!

At the moment Iīm sitting at Puschels bed. Sheīs quit sleepy. Today the pain was so bad, that she needed more medication. Because of that she felt sick and then in return got medication to deal with the nausea. But this makes her sleepy. So right now sheīs asleep.

Iīll be going home tomorrow for one day, to get some things sorted out – e.g. organizing one week off work – so that I might be able to return on Thursday. Puschel will need more strength and energy to be able to receive chemo next week. Yesterday I wrote already, that the 10 weeks of chemo that Puschel got before the surgery, didnīt have much affect on the tumor. That’s why they will try it with a slightly different chemo next time. The aim is to fight all the cancer that still might be left in her body. Nobody can give specifics about that. Good to know, that we do have a Lord, who knows everything about these things. He alone can give healing to Puschel. Thatīs why prayer is so important. Today Puschel had another x-ray done of her pelvis. Hopefully, Iīll be able to soon give you more information about her medical condition – besides keeping you informed about how she feels.

today Puschel walked already two times. The second time all the doctors were watching and were excited and amazed, because they didnÂīt expect her walk so soon after the operation. So we can thank God that he is giving Puschel so much strength so soon after the operation and that HE is bringing the healing about. Nevertheless Puschel is still suffering great pain, but the medication she gets does the job. After walking the pain increased of course. But Puschels motivation to strengthen her muscles is even greater than the pain. Today we got the first pathological results about the tumor. It was hardly affected by the chemotherapy. Which means the only result of the 10 weeks of chemo before the operation is, that now the doctors know that they have to change the chemo-medication. Well, at least somethingâ€Ķ And we have to pray a lot, because the cancer seems to be extremely resistant and hard! That’s why we are very happy that the biggest part of the cancer could be removed through the operation. And God can help that all of it will disappear and no cancer will show in other parts of the body.

Thank you so much for checking this site continuously. ItÂīs such a blessing for us that youÂīre still with us in thoughts and prayers – especially since itÂīs such a long time already. And itÂīs also a blessing that many of you send letters to Puschel, not expecting her to answer them. Because she just canÂīt do it – at least not in the coming months. God bless you for your love and faithfulness.

These are the first steps of Puschel after the operation. She wanted to try to walk to the corridor. And the doctors were surprised to see this. Puschels friend Myriam took these photos what you can see here.
For Puschel it is a great thing, a big step, a milestone on the long way. It is a struggle and gives her more pain at this moments. But it is a good encouragement to see how the doctors are glad to see this.
So itīs not a big step for the humanity but....
Now I am in Berlin to stay with Puschel at the next time. Puschel was feeling disregard (you know what it means?) cause her daddy was so long away...
And I will show you some pictures of Puschels development.
And also I will keep you informed about the bell project.

Thank you soooo much for looking here ever and ever. Itīs a great testimonial for us to see you all beside us while this long time and to know that you are praying for Puschel and for us!!
Itīs a testimonial too that some of you wrote Puschel ever and ever and not are waiting for answer of Puschel. So sorry that she will not be able to answer for a long time. But itīs a great encouragement for her to read your letters and emails.
God bless you for all your love and your prayers!

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.   Hebrews 10,23

Dear friends
Tomorrow Puschel has to try to stand up the first time. She shall look how it is to give weight on her right leg.
I guess the “problem” for Puschel will be to have a very new feeling in her right foot because  it is not able to do what she wants to do you know what I mean?
Then she will realize that the foot will hang down on her leg.
Her pelvis will feel wobbly or softly. Later she will get a special aid for this.
So the next day will be a special day for Puschel.
How good it is that all things with her continence looks very good!! It is not definitiv at this time. But we are very thankful of this situation right now.
I will keep you informed, thank you for praying again and again and for all your mails and other messages! God bless you so much!

28th of August 2007 23:50

Dear friends
Now you should get a short update... The most important question for Puschel at the last time was how it will go with her continence. Are the muscles able for a good function? Is it a problem that the nerv in her backbone (coccyx) was cutted? The drainage for her bladder ist out since today. And Puschel has to try to live without. And it works! Not without problems, but it works! Probably it will be very good! But exactly we can see it while the next days. I will keep you informed about.
This would be a very great gift of God. And it would be great of you to pray for this in the next days.
An additional gift is that the wound outside in Puschels hip are very good and dry. Puschel has only a very small bandage around her hip. So only  the bones of her pelvis inside have to grow together.
And also her medicine against the pain are more effective than before. So she can concentrate for the other questions. On Friday Puschel has to try to stand up the first time...
Thank you all so much for all you patience and all your prayers. Thank you too for your emails and letters and all signs of compassion and closeness.
God bless you all with HIS great possibilities!

I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.     Psalms 16,8-9

Dear friends
I tell it cautious: Now Puschel is getting better day by day. We are thankful for each days when Puschel can stabilize her status.
With her pain is it better step by step. Not real stabil, but everytime better. Itīs a real challenge for Puschel to let wash her body and to get a turn for this on the side of her body. The pelvis is even very labil. And itīs a real challenge for her constitution.
Today we could see in or church how it is when christians pray for Puschel in the church service.
Therefore so many thanks for all your prayer, for all your support. Itīs Puschels and our desire that God will bless you all so much. It is great to know that God wants to bless us. And we havnīt only to give but also to take all blessings fo HIM. Have a nice new week!

26th of August 2007 2:10
Now I give you a short update about Puschel.
Today she was getting much better!! Yesterday I had to tell you that the functions of Puschels intestine are not good and she had not defecation since the operation. Since today it is much better. She had... And this is a very good message for us. It could be a very strong problem for Puschel not only for the next days... I hope so, that it will be better and better although she only can lie in her bed. I hope you understand me...
weīre very thankful to our Lord. And I thank you for all your prayer. With all pain it is day by day a little better. And Puschel can do some things with her mom...  On Wednesday I will change with Eva-Maria ... And then Puschel should try to stand up the first time after...
Since two days she is getting food by drops. Thatīs good for her whole situation to be a little bit stronger for all tasks...
Have a good sunday all, God bless you by watching HIS words and will!!

24th of August 2007 2:303
Dear friends
today in the morning Puschel called me. And she was very happily and funny. We had a wonderful long talk. I thought to hear not right, but it was really Puschel. She gave jokes to me and her mother. For Eva-Maria it was very good and hopefully. For her itīs hard to sit beside a very weak and tired Puschel and is not able to help her. At the lunchtime Puschel had to try to eat something. But then she got nausea again. And the doctors thought about how they can help her for this. But the fact is that the functions of Puschels intestine are not good. Too long the time when Puschel had to lie in her bed and had not defecation (since the operation!)
The problem is that Puschel is not able to stand up for a additional week and can not move her body. Itīs also a problem for the doctors and nurses.
In the evening Puschel called me again. And that was better again. But the problem is not dissolved.
Thank you all for fight with Puschel!!
God bless you!

23th of August 2007
Over the last night Puschel slept not so good, but so that she could go courageous in the new day. The doctors tried different possibilities to adjust the medicine for the pain. That was partly successful.
Now Puschel is watching a video about Jeremiah to stay awake. So she is hopefully to be able for sleeping good later.
Many thanks to you for staying with Puschel in these fight who will surely endure few days.
God bless you!

It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD; I sing for joy at the works of your hands. How great are your works, O LORD, how profound your thoughts! Psalms 92,1-5

Dear friends
Since yesterday, Puschel enjoyes a more quet room with only one other patient in it, a woman from Dresden. She has many conversations with her. The women from the other room didnīt want to let her go. With one of them, Myriam (friend of Puschel) had a intensive talk. As consequence she could give her a bible as a present. Hopefully, sheīll read it... Again and a gain there are oportunities to confess - to see, how god uses Puschel and friends and family around her for HIS work.

Puschel herself had to fight with much pain yesterday. Many anaesthetists were working on this problem for any hours. It is even a big, big wound inside and outside of her body. 40cm long. Aditional 20 cm on her leg, where they took out the bone. It is normal, that it needs a long time to become free of pain.

If you want to pray for this, would be fine! After all, Puschel is bit by bit, able to watch a movie, together with her mother, or to read her eMails.

20th of August
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion                                              Psalms 103,2-4

Dear friends
Today Puschel moved from intensive care to normal station (surgery). She looks really good today.
Now she has to be patient until the end of next week. Then sheīll try to get up and walk carefully. Itīll be important to checkup how debitable her pelvis is. Itīll be a long way until she can start to learn how to handle with her changed foot and feeling in her right leg. It is an extreme experience to see the foot at the end  of the own leg, but not to feel him and to think: what on earth is this...?
Anyway, there is so much thanksgiving in our hearts about the fact, that Puschel is going so well after these few days and we are surprised how fine everything went through the surgery, without any complications. Sheīll need much strenght to get up after the two weeks. But: every day has its own plague... (Math. 6, 34) Therefore, we want to be glad on this day today.

For now, even nausea isnīt a problem. She gets hard painkiller straight into her back over a cathedra, which is located directly on the back to provide the nerves at the beneath area of her spinal cord. With a pump she can give herself less or more painkiller.
Since today her mother Eva-Maria is with Puschel in Berlin. Iīm at home right now. Yesterday I couldīt give you any message because there were no internet available.
Hopefully in next days thereīll be nothing special to report. But if you want to pray concrete, you can even have a look at the webpage in next days.
Thank you very, very much for praying!!!! May god bless you richly!

Psalms 55,23

Dear friends
Now we need patience...! The doctor who had operate Puschel said: “My part is over but Lydias part is coming now.”
It will be a very hard work for Puschel. The sciatica controls the muscles at the backside of the legs and also the moves of the feet. This is impossible now for Puschel. She will be able to walk but with a not unimportant handicap!!
When I had to tell this to Puschel and she realized this she got a few tears in her eyes. She was an athletic girl, somebody of you knows this.
Iīm thankful and sad about this all. Thankful that God has given us a very good operation. But also sad that God doesnīt want to keep her the complete leg.
We believe that God is a powerful and mighty God. And I canīt understand all things. But I understand that God has given her a very good operation (a lot of bad things could happen in this giant operation!!!) and a lot of possibilities to praise HIM. And Puschel wants to praise HIM.  So God will give her the power and energy for all things in the future.
Now Puschel has to recover and to have patience.
But 3-4 weeks later it will start the next chemo becaus the cancer in Puschels pelvis is one of the hardest cancers of all. The chemo will start again soon and endure different month!

The day in the intensive care unit doday was good. Puschels body has to handle incredibles 20-30 cm long cuts on backside and front of her pelvis, additional a bone what is cutted from the fibula - it would be hard for everybody...
In the next daysshe will come to the normal hospital area. We hope her status will .be good tomorrow.
Puschel is getting now a lot of medicine for her pain. But thats the reason for gettng nausa again...
Would you like to pray for this and all the other things?
You are a very great Gods family. Our father bless you so much. Greetings to you all from Puschel!!!
In HIM

My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. Psalms 63,9

18th of August 9:00
Our dear friends,
Now Puschel is full with different medicine by drops. Especially the medicine for the pain gives her nausea again. She had a very giant operation!! And her body has to handle this. She has very big wounds because the operation.
Would you like to pray that it will be possible without inflammations? And please pray that Puschel will be able to fight against the nausea. Thank you so much

17th of August after the Operation about 17:30
Our dear friends,
just I came from the intensiv care unit. Puschels operation endured about 8 hours.
The best message of this is:
The operation was very good!
And weīre very thankful to our God!
But the not so good message is: The doctors had to cut  the sciatica nerv!
Now Puschel will not longer be able to move her foot. certainly the most important functions of her right leg will be! Puschel will be able to walk and to do anything with her legs, certainly with handicap, .
How it will be with her continence is in this time not completly clear. But we are hopefully that it will be good.
For 3 days sh has to stay now at the intensiv care. And 14 day she has to lay in the bed. Then she can try to move and to walk.
When I was with Puschel she could speak normally but  I thought I couldnīt hear right: she could whisper to me a joke...!
Thank you for all your support! Thank you soooo much for all your prayer.God bless you so.
I will give you new messages soon

Psalms 55,23

Dear friends,
a lot of you like to get specific informations about tomorrow.
About an hour ago we had talks with different doctors. (Anästesie, surgery) which includes the surgent (Dr.Thunn) who will lead the whole operation.
He explained Puschel again what they will operate on and the risks it can have. The plan ist still the same. The MRI and the CT didnīt show a big change. Except the inflammation decreased.
Now it depends all, one time more, on our God.
The surgery will be tomorrow morning, 17th of Oktober around 8am. At 7.30am Puschel is on her way to the operation-room. The surgery lasts aproximatly 6 - 8 hours. Right after finishing the operation, Dr. Thunn will call me on my cellphone, consequently I can see our daughter and Iīll give you information about everything as soon as possible! Word of honour! Maybe it lasts until 8pm or later.

We told Dr. Thunn, that many, many people will pray for him, his doing and decisions during the surgery. If he understood the meaning of this? We donīt know. It isnīt important.

We want to share three things with you, which seems us important to bring before our god for tomorrow:

- please pray, that God may guide all decisions, the doctors have to make tomorrow during the surgery, hat HE really may lead their hands and thaughts. There are so many criterions to consider tomorrow for them. And the doctor entrusted us, that even he is nervous for tomorrow...

- please pray, that the  nerves and nerve roots are still healthy and not enclosed by the tumor!!

- pray, that god sourrounds especially Puschel, but also you all, with HIS protection and HIS deep peace, even in sight of the possible consequences of this heavy surgery.
We donīt know, what God intends. But, we know, that we can TRUST him and that HE has the authority to effectuate wonders. Even when it seems hopeless - God is in control!

Thank you for all your time, strenght and love you invest for Puschel and even for us all. God bless you!!
My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.                                                                                   Psalms 63,8
