Hier ein paar kleine Informationen darüber, was im Moment (Dezember 2009)
als Entscheidung ansteht und was das augenblickliche Problem ist.

Heute sollte Puschel in der Orthopädischen Klinik stationär aufgenommen werden. Wir hatten dort am frühen Nachmittag ein sehr gutes Gespräch mit zwei Ärzten. Es gibt danach eigentlich nur zwei Möglichkeiten:
Entweder der Tumor wird operativ entfernt. Dies aber müßte erkauft werden mit irreparablen drastischen Schäden, die auf eine Querschnittslähmung hinauslaufen würden.
Oder der Tumor würde verkleinert und bewußt zum Teil drin gelassen werden. Den Rest müßte dann die Schwerionentherapie erledigen. Dabei haben die Ärzte jedoch kein gutes Gefühl, weil sie dem Erfolg nicht trauen.
Am Schluss wurde die Frage aufgeworfen, ob eventuell nicht auch zunächst nur eine umfangreiche Schwerionentherapie gemacht werden könnte. Man hat damit noch kaum Erfahrungen. Dies muss nun mit den Strahlentherapeuten durchdacht werden.
so beten wir um sehr viel Weisheit für diese Überlegungen.
Morgen nun muss Puschel zu aktuellen Aufnahmen mit MRT usw. wieder in die Klinik. Sie musste nun doch nicht dort bleibnen, sondern konnte mit zu Bekannten zum Übernachten. Das ist auch ein großes Geschenk! Denn jeder (unnötige) Tag oder Nacht weniger im Krankenhaus ist gut für Stimmung und Lebensfreude.
Das Wochenende am Bodensee hat Puschel sehr ermutigt und erfreut. Ihr könnt es an den Bildern oben sehen.
eine OP scheint in dieser Woche nicht mehr realistisch zu sein.

Today Puschel had a new Appointment in the orthopädic clinic. We had a good talk with two doctors. So we have all in all three choices:
First: The tumor will be removed by a big surgery. The result would be also that Puschel will get irreparable damages, in the end it will be a paraplegia.
Second: the tumor will get smaller by a surgery without all these damages. The complete removing of the cancer has to make the heavyiontherapy. Thats not the first choice for the doctors because it is´t the normal known way and they´re unsure for a complete success.
Third (it was a new idea in all consultations): the question, if it´s possible to make a big lang heavyiontherapie without a surgery. Than we had to look what would be necessary if it has´nt success.
So we have to pray for wisdom for the doctors and also for us in all these decisions. We would like mostly the last version. But we dont know if it will be a real way. God can lead the doctors to try this way!
Tomorrow Puschel has to get a new MRI. Than we have new consultations with the doctors. Thay want to talk between with the heavyion therapists.
Very fine: Puschel could leave the hospital and can be with me here in the house of friends in the near of Heidelberg.
We had a very fine trip to the Bodenseehof!! You can see it by the pictures above. A surgery in this week is not probable.
